Well hopefully Wrexham putting out an understrength side will come back to haunt them ala Megson in Europe.

They will be even more determined to rebound with a win against us. They are tough as nail defensively and it wont be easy playing against them at their home. We will concede as usual, but given their recent loses, a goal from us will create doubt and a confidence dip for them. I am sure our players will be looking forward to this game. We will be ready.

The BN article on the imminent return of CMG feels like an attempt at good news before bad. The brief (blink and you miss it) reference to Vic suggests they already know he’s out for a while. Light up top if so.

You may be right and Vic is a powerhouse who will be missed. Time for CMG to step up to the plate, great men are forged in fire etc.

Lolos is our other option up front until the Cardiff fellow gets fit for the run in.

Vic who undoubtedly will be out a while I’d suggest based on Schuey’s immediate comments. However whilst it’s a blow and a setback and we are light up front it’s less significant than it was given the way Schuey sets us up. We lack a real number 9 and have done since January I think that’s the issue.

Time for McAtee to show us he can be a 9 - He has the physique, he can link the play and can finish - I'd like to see how he does staying between the posts

Vic might need surgery.
https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/2 ... ws-update/
“He had to come off in the closing stages of the game against Orient, having landed awkwardly on his knee, and unfortunately he went for a scan on Tuesday and the scans came back with some ligament damage in his knee,” Steven Schumacher explained. “Now, we don't know the full extent of the ligament damage yet, but he definitely won't be available for this week.

“As we speak, he is with a surgeon who is going to speak to him and see what the next course of action is, so we'll have to just see how that goes.

“We don't know yet if he is going to have surgery. It is a bit of a complicated one because it isn’t like a normal ligament injury so we’ll have to wait until he has seen the specialist, get the right information, and then take it from there.”
Toal back, Gethin not. Dempsey back in non-contact training.

Geth? Wasn't a training injury - per initial BN report it was sustained at Shrewsbury.

One could still raise a question as he was "possible" for last weekend, but anyone who's had a rib injury will know it's bloody painful and restricts your movements. Might be one of those where he'd play if we really needed him but frankly we don't, either at right(wing)back or (right)centre-back, so no point rushing him - especially with 5 games in 15 days starting tomorrow.

Yeah I hear Schuey talk about it after posting and sounds like he’s cracked a rib rather than merely bruised them.

Oof. I cracked a rib in a game before Christmas and it still hurts. (Especially this week when I blocked a shot from the same opponent - blameless, nice fella - with the very same rib. I might have sworn at him.)

Now, I'm not a professional footballer and I daresay Geth's a lot harder than me (it's a low bar) but if it is cracked, as I say I can understand not rushing him, especially with a lot of football to play in the first half of March.

I can testify to just how long a cracked rib can take to heal. Not a nice injury in the slightest.

Rebreaks very easily too, can't really be rushed

Does he try four at the back with Collins on the left? Match them 3-5-2? Is it a must-win/must-not-lose?

Additionally: what a day for League One.
