there was the diving one-handed save to his right in the second half - pushed the ball round the post - looked like it might have sneaked in... otherwise - not much other than the fairly routine...
Thought that one would have gone off the post.

Aye was a fairly minor effort. Good performances all round.

Mark Davies signed a year's extension too - happy days.

possibly - though I'm glad he didn't stand and watch it bounce off the post onto Cahill's toe..

Happy, gives us a bit of breathing space and it was a pretty comfortable win.

Funny watching MOTD2 and asking two guys who know fck all about Bolton having to try and fill 5 minutes of chat about how good we are without actually proving it :D

I think the double lift of CYL returning and Sturridge arriving has given the club just a bit of a boost...prefer if we can find a way now to start Lee and Sturridge.

Maybe start Petrov, Klasnic, Moreno, Alonso & Elmader against Wiggin and tell them to just go out, do their best and give the manager a selection headache for the next league game.

Very happy with the 3 points yesterday thought the display was good also, a couple of areas I think we could improve in but overall 7/10. Thought Mavies was really good in midfield, Sturridge has added another dimension to the team with his pace and presence up front. Wheater was solid when he replaced Knight and I think if he gets 3/4 games while Knight is injured he can cement his place in the team.

Negative note, think Coyle has to be abit more flexible when teams change formation, we seem to get over-run in midfield at times and against a team who weren't so poor we could have struggled. But I think the players have re-discovered some confidence and back to back home clean sheets is pleasing.

Think we can now go to Newcastle in two weeks and get a positive result and kick-on up the table, not saying CL but a good 7th / 8th finish would be nice.

Well the BBC Sport headline is all about David Moyes and Everton and not us. Same goes for the Metro newspaper.

For God's sake give us some credit you lot.

Watching on TV last night I thought those are the looks of a man who knows the gig is up. One would have thought Everton were destined for relegation from those shots. Unfortunately I doubt it will happen.

Did MOTD show the flare-up between Sturridge and Mandy?

It was alright. They were poor though.

That Fellaini fella with the big hair's a dirty fooker. We should sign him up.

As has been said, Kudos to Neville and Arteta for having a chuckle with the bloke in the second row, who looked like he wanted to rip Nev's throat out.

Neville wanted him off the picth before we could make a sub, which is a little unsporting, but he's an ex-rag playing for a scouse team, so what do you expect?

We played well enough, but Everton were woeful. Worse than Wolves who I thought were the worst team to come here since Newcastle!

Apart from one save and a hairy moment, when I was sure he was going to carry the ball out of the box whilst sliding, Jussi was a spectator. The back 4 were excellent and Knight was okay before he was carried off with a nasty looking injury. Completely outpaced by Anichebe (who looks a handful, but with the goal bothering ability of a dead mouse) but the recovery tackle was excellent! Wheater was immense alongside Cahill.

Mark Davies was superb, carried the ball well and won every 50/50 in the centre of the park. Holdens cross for the goal was superb, but the defending was abysmal. I thought Elmander had a decent enough game, playing out of position, I thought he was fine and kept Baines pegged back. Taylor was 'okay' but sometimes he distinct lack of pace makes him look likea pub player, but he works so, so hard. Petrov shouldn't get a look in, which Robinson would no doubt agree with!

Davies was class and Sturridge was sometimes mangificent, but sometimes infuriating.. Great finish from a magnificent Lee knock down.

Good win all in all and I'm a happy wanderer..

Praise for the Korean fans in front of us, who were really in the spirit of things, even before Chungy entered the fray

 At least Ginola likes us! He did say, " they pass the ball, have ability to find space, want to attack, that's what football should be about". Gone up in my estimation.

Unconnected thoughts.

Law 9: "The ball is out of play when it has wholly crossed the goal line or touch line". No difference between any place on the pitch, which would be a preposterous difference anyway. The Laws are downloadable, and it helps to know them. In this instance I think the lino may have got it just about right, but it was very close - hence the freeze-frames, replays etc not producing a definitive verdict.

I would have expected Everton, a five-across-midfield dog's arse of a team only occasionally enlivened by artists like Arteta, to completely boss a four-man midfield including Mavis, Elmo, the widely decried Taylor and the regularly overworked Holden. I was wrong. One easy conclusion to jump to is that Everton underperformed, but it might also be true to say that we massively outfought them for the first half-hour, deservedly going in front, and weathered their mini-revival before crushing their dreams.

Good subs, too. Wheater looked composed and commanding - no bad combination. LCY is now pushing hard for a start and got a full half-hour to push Everton back; good thinking, too, to switch Elmo to the left, giving pause for thought to all of our wide-men. And a nice touch to let the stadium give Sturridge some love, while also reminding people that Muamba's primed and ready.

We weren't three goals better than them but we didn't look uncomfortable. Fine margins, again, but in our favour and the high-tempo pressing game notably worked. Perhaps they enjoyed the seven-day gap, without pre-match travel – apart from against Chelsea, we haven't had that luxury this side of Christmas, and the performances have in part reflected that.

Intriguing choices, then, for the Wiggin replay. It might be best to rest Mavis or especially Holden, and you'd imagine Muamba and CYL will start, with Elmo probably getting a chance up front replacing the cup-tied Sturridge. Let's hope the revival the loanee has helped engender continues in his absence, 'cos if we win on Wednesday we'll be without him again on Sunday at Fulham in another winnable game. Top half and FA Cup quarter-finals? It wouldn't be bad.

Great result for the lads yesterday and a good performance. Wheater impressed me and its good to know we have decent backup in the back line now. Only moan would be quite a few strayed passes and balls to nothing at times. I can remember 3 or 4 at least from elmo but still thought he did a decent enough job on baines.

Fellaini needs pads on his elbows the amount of times he leads with them.. and its no accident either.
