This game yeah, but I think Eaves is just desperate to Impress where as Davies isn't really bothered about this game.TANGODANCER wrote:Really? All ten minutes of him.Tals-biggest-fan wrote:Eaves is soo much better then Davies

Good effort by Connolly. Dunno how the commentator can get our whitest and our blackest player mixed up but ah well.

Give it a break. Seriously.Tals-biggest-fan wrote:Eaves is soo much better then Davies
Eaves has been on the park 10 minutes and has hardly touched the ball.

That was a very worrying performance.

Re: Bolton in Florida
Didn't expect to lose but not terribly disappointed as the focus is fitness. We definitely need a couple players who can put the ball in the net. With Elmander and Sturridge gone, we have nobody who is a direct goal threat.
Only saw the second half where we missed at least 5 clear chances and hit the bar twice. Petrov, Lee, Gardner looked decent. Cahill and KD, our England players looked way short of sharpness. Hopefully, it will all come together in a few weeks, but the squad is about 5 quality players short. OC and PG need to get cracking. Priority - Forwards !

I hope that the people who stayed up for the game have cleared their heads a bit now.
We've only been training for a couple of weeks and were playing a game against a team half way through their season.
This wasn't a "go out there and spank them" kind of game, it's just building up match fitness.

nobody is slitting their wrists... but I don't care what kind of game it is - I always want us to win. I'd hope Coyle and the players are the same... it always hurts me when we lose (to a lesser or greater degree)
(also - give the stay-uppers a bit of credit! some of it is tongue-in-cheek!)
Having said that, KD did have a bit of a mare! and if this is Klas's chance to prove himself worthy of a starting place (as Coyle suggested) - then I doubt he did himself that many favours...

Pre-season friendlies are meaningless unless someone gets injured.
But you don't need pre-season games to see that as it stands we're bottom of the table material!

I hope they confiscated your tie and laces before you went to work this morning.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Re: Bolton in Florida
Watched most of the game. Commentary off after 1 minute.
I thought we looked a lot better 2nd half than 1st. We seemed to create more chances with Petrov and Chungy down the flanks. Mind you i think they will both look a class above against some of the lower standard American sides. If memory serves me correctly Petrov dominated in these games last year as well.
1st half i was surprised how deep M.Davies was playing. He was picking up the ball a hell of a lot in our own half from what i saw. Pratley seems to have a pretty big engine which is good to see. Big Kevs touch wasn't great and yes he did have a bit of a mare but he will be better for some match fitness. Klas was pretty much non-existant and i hope he gets a bit more involved over the next couple of games otherwise he will be stuck as an impact sub no matter if we bring in more troops or not. Jussi looked solid.
Alonso looked fairly good 2nd half going forward combining with Petrov but we all know how susceptible that combination leaves us in defence.
Gaz was noticably frustrated a couple of times in the 2nd half but i'm not going to read to much into that.
All in all it was a decent run for the team and despite what i wrote we shouldn't really read to much into the match. Nothing but a glorified training run but it was enjoyable to watch the Wanderers again. Hopefully onward and upward over the next few friendlies.

On the plus side I'm sure OC and PG know this and will do something about it!
