Think about it...

We'd be great at winning free kicks
Post match interviews would be ace

Get Stelios in as assistant and Bergsson and Super John in as coaches. A bit of passion, character and intelligence.

We'd be amazing
How about Hierro?
I'd prefer Campo. Both for comedy value, but also the fact he loves Bolton. He gets what and who we are. Dunno how good a manager he'd make, but it wouldn't be as depressing as the fool we have now.

Bruce is exactly what we needed 12 months ago as an experienced No.2 to Coyle.
Maybe, but for me you can't "impose" a number 2 on a manager. Coyle appoints his staff and its up to him.
Oh, exactly. Turns out he's too stubborn.

It wouldn't end well, now would it ?!
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Harry would take us into the Champions League.
He sign us some top, top players. And Jermain Defoe too.
And then he'd knob off and leave us with £500million worth of debt.

No thanks.

Swap coyle for someone who just looks like a clown? Stroke of genius.

For me Per Frandsen and Gudni would be great (intelligent articulate capable of earning respect)but I assume they are too busy enjoying the high quality life in scandinavia.

heard him interviewed the other day on r5 and he was asked if he'd drop a division...

seems he'd rather eat rotting roadkill hedgehog carcasses than demean himself by having to work with what he called "substandard players in lower divisions"

he reckons he has proved himself and so would only take a top, top job in England - or manage the national team...

Forget divisions or money. Arry lives on the South Coast. And refuses to move or live away from home for any significant period.

One of the reasons he was determined inappropriate for the England job.....

Roberto Martinez? :D

Karl Robinson has led MK Dons into fifth place twice and he's still not 32...

Here's a name to start debate: Avram Grant...

McGinlay pleads for patience from fans
JOHN McGinlay hopes supporters will give Owen Coyle and Wanderers every chance to bounce back from their poor start to the season.

After registering just one win in four, including an embarrassing League Cup exit at the hands of League One Crawley Town, the pressure has been ramped up on the manager and his team.

But whilst the Whites goalscoring legend shares in the mood of disappointment, he has warned against a return to the poisonous atmosphere of the Gary Megson days.

“We’ve started on the wrong foot,” he said. “Relegation meant we were already on a low but then at least we had the anticipation of a fast start. That hasn’t come, and I can understand why people are upset. It hasn’t been good enough.

“What we’ve got to remember is that by carrying that feeling into games, it won’t do any good.

“There’s nothing worse than playing in a negative atmosphere – just ask anyone who stepped on the pitch while Gary Megson was in charge – because it spreads right through the team. All of a sudden people are making bad passes or hiding from the ball.

“It is hard to take at the moment but we have got to stay behind the team. If it goes wrong, then criticise and ask the question, but give them that chance.”

Such has been the reaction after Tuesday night’s defeat at the Broadfield Stadium, that Coyle’s position is being heavily scrutinised by some sections of the support.

McGinlay believes the players who passed up the opportunity to impress in the cup should be held equally culpable.

“They have got to start stepping up because they are letting the manager down, not the other way round,” he said.

“He was given the job to cut everything back, and he did it. The club is cutting their cloth accordingly now and he’s working on a lower budget.

“That’s no excuse, and the buck stops with him, but the players are better than they are showing.

“We want out of this league and Owen knows that. But I think he’s being let down at the moment because players are not doing themselves justice. They are not all playing for the team.

You have got to battle in this league or you’ve got no chance.”
Businesswoman of the year.

The bit that leaps out at me

'the players are better than they are showing'

Isn't that what management is?
