We won after a severe and uncomfortable ninety two minutes when we weren't winning. It has launched us from 17th to 15th in the table. We have three points to play with and six games to go before it is mathematically impossible to join the playoffs. Relegation, however, is still, mathematically just around the corner. And all this under a manager in his second term, whose imperitive was to get us up in his first term. The parachute payments run out soon, and God only knows which of the ones we've bought and lent out and which of the ones we've loaned we are going to buy.
And you want me to celebrate winning a dire shite match against UDDERSFIELD 1 fxckin nil jn the ninety second minute.
Nothing to do with revelling in defeat, everything to do with being cynically against way hay happy clappy shite.
But excuse me for living, go and celebrate as long as you want, because if you don't want to hear my opinion (rather than the one you want me to have) you can always do a Boltonboris and just ignore me.

Especially when your mate spends the last 20 mins of the game telling you we are going to concede in the last minute and then the exact opposite happening. Despite being a very pessimistic person I honestly can't see how any of our fans that went to he game could be nothing short of delighted, we took lots of fans and although we played poorly we beat the Yorkies in the last minute and the celebration's that followed were great. Really looking forward to Tuesday and seeing us win in Yorkshire for the 4th time this season.

Looking at Enoch's 30 game data .... extrapolate that to 40 games we'd currently be on 61-62 points and 7th, chasing reading on 63.

Now, of course, the simple line is that we can't ignore the first 10 games .... or/and that this proves just HOW fckg poor the first 10 games were. That would be/is my natural reaction, but I'm trying to see Enoch's point, which is a fair enough one as we are now about to prepare for the coming season.

However, this period of sustained 'good form' leaves me a little like that great (results-wise) run late last year. Though we've accumulated decent points there's only been one faze when the actual performances have had me buzzing.

It's all about results, of course it is. We can worry about performances when we're achieving the points. It's a marked improvement on the feeling by last October, for sure. Next season it all starts over again. Let's hope we're challenging.

Yup, get this. When it comes to taking comfort at least it's a little more than 'if you take out all the games we drew or lost we'd be top of the league' . We've shown over an extended period we can pick up points. No excuses if the same mistakes are made next year (though I can see how some might say there weren't any excuses this time around!).

We won't be amongst the promotion favourites next year our budget will be reduced again.

I'm not sure what to expect to be honest. But a good start, whatever that means would help hugely.

Can we wait until the end of this season before getting our excuses in for the next?

We all know (well you do) that it's impossible for any of the relegated sides to go back up without years of toil first. Outside of that, there will likely only be four other teams in the division who have any parachute payments at all, with one of those being newly promoted Wolves. Everyone else will find themselves hamstrung by FFP.

Any slight decrease in our budget will surely be countered by the fact we've spent the last two years holding back, cannily getting our house in order and building a side under a highly rated young manager. This is our moment.

Clearly I'm odd, but I seldom come away from any football match thinking one side were battered. I've seen plenty of sides give up possession and never look in danger of losing, I've seen plenty of sides camped outside the opposition's box without looking threatening.. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy watching us dominate as much as the next guy, I don't expect it every week.

As Bobo observes, 'Next season it all starts over again.' I'm hoping for a fair wind and a competitive season, my ideal conclusion would be a glorious day out at Wembley. What I'm not wishing for is a bad start, the inevitable sacking and the upheaval that would bring. I'd likely settle for a season that sees us in or around the playoff places and the air of optimism it brings.
