BWFC: We're delighted to announce the signing of Randell Williams from @HullCity for an undisclosed fee on a two-and-a-half-year deal.
Blimey. That was quick.

Evatt quote
He offers us some real dynamic pace and speed down the left and an attacking threat. But I also feel we need to gather and gain more dribbling quality, especially against teams who are going to sacrifice and go into a low block. We need someone who can battle and beat players in a one-on-one duel and get crosses in the box, create for us, just as well on the left as Conor does on the right.”
How long have I been saying exactly this for?

Also worth noting at the bottom of the BN article is says Nlundulu will be completed on Monday.

Only about a third as long as saying that everything Evatt says is nonsense

Aye - unusually, backed up (if more hesitantly and vaguely) on the official site:
“Randell’s signing is a good start for us in this transfer window,” said Evatt, who confirmed that a second arrival via the loan market is pencilled in for early next week.
I assume he will be eligible for the Pizza Plate, given Hull weren't in it. Among everything else, we've a three-game week coming up with a cup QF in between hosting two "promotion rivals".

That maybe why it's been timed the way it has, sped up due to Iredale's injury and our genuine need for cover in that spot.

Nlundulu as well seems a bit of a strange one. Another striker not blessed with a great goal record. I suspect its a case of we've identified him having an ability of getting into the goal scoring spots and we'll take it from there. Young as well so maybe one for the future.

Still its a tough week coming up.

I remember him tearing us apart when we played Cheltenham last October. Never knew his name then but I wondered to myself at the time, who is that #9? We just could not cope with his movement and technical skills with the ball. Gave us a lot of problems.

Iredale tragic, not the least for the lad himself. The other two, well, time will tell, but progress is being made, which is never bad.

A wing-back who does a flip when celebrating a goal.

We like those types.

Bad news on Iredale but fair play for signing someone so quickly. Sounds like a different option as well to what we have - more Dec John than Iredale so happy with that! The emergence of Toal helps with the centre half area…given how little Iredale has played in the back 3 I dare say we won’t buy any cover for there.

I think we do need more defensive cover now this month. We are light with only Jones and Beck realistically as wing back cover and Beck is not exactly looking like someone Evatt trusts and one assumes John is done here.

And centre back cover is only Jones and A.another.

Which means that an injury to say Bradley would leave us very light. We need another versatile option. Unless there is someone in the B team ready to step up?

I note from DSB's B-team thread that Senior hasn't had his National League loan extended. Could be that he's our CB cover.

Could be. That would be quite the step up. But be nice if the management team thought he was capable.

Evatt doing everything but confirm Nlundulu:
We have completed one signing and another, if everything goes according to plan, will be with us on Monday following the expiry of his loan agreement. Things are moving nicely. I think the identity of the player is well documented now but we are looking forward to having him here.

After that, there are one or two more bubbling away in the background and waiting for some progress. In terms of outs, there is nothing happening as yet, but there have been lots and lots of enquiries.
https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/2 ... nham-town/

On Williams:
Randell has blistering speed and will give us a real attacking threat down that left side. He is multi-dimensional and can play left, right, as a forward in a 4-3-3 or as a wing-back in our system, but predominantly he has been brought in to mirror on the left hand side what we are getting from Conor Bradley on the right.
Iles: Evatt insists the deal to sign Williams has not been accelerated because of Iredale’s injury but added that his new signing may need to be “brought up to speed” because of his lack of recent games.

Minor thought: That might be the first rumour Football League World have ever got right. F*cked clocks and all that.

Another thought: We now have two Williamses. I think I'll keep calling MJ MJ, and refer to this lad as Randell. Or maybe "RANDY WILLIAMS!?!" in the manner of Nelson Muntz on The Simpsons...
