Lies, damned lies and now the damned tics. Wigan (H) Saturday 12.30pm

Where fellow sufferers gather to share the pain, longing and unrequited transfer requests that make being a Wanderer what it is...

It’s a bit late to question the character of a manager who willingly threw his coach under the bus and out of a job to hire another of his mates and then for it all to make zero difference.

I don’t feel sorry for him because he’s just an awful human being.

I’m not particularly interested in comparing Evatt to past managers. All that’s relevant in the here and now is whether he’s the right man to take us forward, or if there’s someone else we could turn to improve our lot. I think we’d all be in agreement on the answer to that one.
Aye. Comparison to different managers in different times is fine for pub talk to pass the time. The vastly more important theoretical comparison is to potential different managers of our club, now. Who is most likely to promote us this season?

Probably Alex Neil who took over Sunderland in similar situation and did it. And I’d wager can work with these or most of these players.

Neil is a reasonable shout. Schumacher still available. Mark Robins too, although he might be headed to Millwall. All managers who’ve won promotion and not instantly shat the bed in the division above.

Schumacher is maybe the pick but doesn’t have the same experience Neil has.

We have to decide is it a long term - rebuild or a manager capable of winning promotion this season. We’ve maybe left it too late for the latter to be much beyond a long shot.

But if that’s the call - Neill is closest fit imho. Done it before. Almost exactly.

I see lowly Cambridge managed a 2-2 at high flying Wrexham. Goals from Kachunga and N'Lundulu.

What might have been ....

That’s hilarious - he’s off his fecking tits!

Seriously, we’re fecking miles off Ian! We’re nearer the relegation spots than Wycombe!

Quite clearly it’s not real.

Is it me or has Evatt just admitted today that he can beat the lesser teams but mentally his team struggle in the big games and derby games.

How does that bode in regards to moving forward basically admitting that his team chokes in big / high pressure games - to get promoted you need to win a decent % of these surely.

Surely with these comments and him saying that the fans have disrespected him means that his position is now untenable ?

Many thought he should go after Wembley. Huddersfield was a reminder of how bad we are in crunch games. Stockport was surely the straw that broke the camel's back for everyone.

Now, only Evatt thinks, or says at any rate, that only he can turn it around. I don't know of one supporter who thinks he can.

Thanks for the memories Evatt but time to go now. Quickly.

Mate after Oxford he said he didn’t know the answer and would go away and think about things
Huddersfield he said he didn’t know what to do
Stockport I can’t remember, it was that embarrassing
I dunno what he has to say to get sacked! But I’ll be fecked if I’m going watching his brand of football again. Rather watch paint dry.

Here’s another thing. Had he gone after Oxford I think his stock was high enough to get a chance with a championship team.
Now he looks that fecking stupid I’ll be surprised if gets a league one gig next time out. Derek Adams isn’t happy at Morecambe - get yourself there Ian ya dickhead!

He spent last season angrily denying they had any mentality issues in the squad and had no issues with big games.

The man is a fraud.

Ah yes hadn’t spotted that. Was hoping it was real. If Evatt survives this he’ll survive anything. I appreciated the patience with him in his first season after the bad start, but persevering with him after this is just madness.
