Well said. It's a fecking game, people. It's not even a very good game - it's one dominated by a few wealthy individuals who buy up all the trophies for their clubs, leaving the rest of us to bask in the vicarious pleasure of having watched our team play against some superstars.jaffka wrote:oh ffs!

These days I have a hard enough time giving a shit whether the team win or lose, never mind getting upset because some overpaid journeyman striker won't be turning out for them.

Re: Abdoulaye's going t'Souk transfer thread
Conceding fewer goals is not to be underestimated. Hull were promoted automatically having scored 8 fewer goals than us. Last season, Brighton finished sixth having scored fewer; and QPR and Wigan also secured play-off spots having scored just 1 and 2 goals respectively more than us. That's not to say scoring isn't important, but it can be overestimated. Personally, I'd have no problem with us 1-0 & 0-0-ing our way out of this division.TANGODANCER wrote:Any ten year old kid knows it. It's what football's about. That was the point.BWFC_Insane wrote:He said the same about needing goals last summer. Any manager knows and wants that. It is finding them that is the problem.TANGODANCER wrote:Has he just realised this?Harry Genshaw wrote:Dougie's quote in tonight's BEN about strikers being the main requirement and how it's goals that get you promoted, I found to be quite heartening. I was getting worried we were going to attempt to 1-0 & 0-0 our way out of this division.

Great pity about Juke but such is life and now hopefully DF will move on to his next target that he claims he has in mind.
