As others have said (here on on other formats) you'd hope the draw of regular football, which he must think he can get here, would be very positive.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Wed Aug 31, 2022 2:43 pmIf talk he’s already trained with us is true it would be quite a change but like I say you never know in football.
Iles and Nixon both seem confident he comes here so I guess we just wait for now.
My strong understanding is that this is where Liverpool want him to be. We'll see what goes on.

In other news WBA have signed Thomas-Asante from Salford.
Good player who has caught my eye a few times. Scored their goal here in the carabao couple of weeks back.
Big step up though - two divisions. Only £300K I guess which mitigates the risk.

Declan John leaving would be reasonably surprising. Are we likely to get a fee for him?

Contracted through to summer 2024, so we could. Whether we will is a different question.

I like John. He had the highest assists last season. Is very cultured. But I’d ask a genuine question…when was the last game you would say he was really good in? Really outstanding? Where he caught the eye as a player the opposition couldn’t handle?
Cos I do like him but I can’t remember. I also don’t think he’s a steady Eddie 7/10 every week either as we know he can be suspect at times.
For me you have to go back to the first half of last season for him to be really standout.

The club's official Facebook account has uploaded a photograph of Bradley and Beck with the caption "Bezzies reunited".
I'm unsure if that's a schedule post which has been forgotten about or they've just decided to announce his signing there.

Well, they've just uploaded another post with the PSG so it seems he might actually have signed.

I also saw that 'bezzies reunited' thing and thought I was seeing things. Guess someone hit send tweet instead of schedule.

Couldn't see any such tweet so i'm guessing they've put it on the back burner for the actual time its intended to drop.KeyserSoze wrote: ↑Wed Aug 31, 2022 4:40 pmI also saw that 'bezzies reunited' thing and thought I was seeing things. Guess someone hit send tweet instead of schedule.

Indeed. A few sharp fingers screenshotted it so it is still findable but we're past that now hopefully. Would keep your eyes peeled in about fifteen minutes...Mar wrote: ↑Wed Aug 31, 2022 4:43 pmCouldn't see any such tweet so i'm guessing they've put it on the back burner for the actual time its intended to drop.KeyserSoze wrote: ↑Wed Aug 31, 2022 4:40 pmI also saw that 'bezzies reunited' thing and thought I was seeing things. Given the photo that the club inadvertently posted was him in full kit and scarf I think we can say this one is done. No nothing about him but definitely a position we need strengthening in.

Interesting if John goes - swapping a loanee for a permanent - feels a bit more like a ‘must get promoted’ move if we think he improves us.

IFF it happens it could also be a case of balancing books. If this is one of Evatt's "I doubt we can afford it" signings he might be on full whack for the position and we might need to get a similar player out the door.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Wed Aug 31, 2022 5:11 pmInteresting if John goes - swapping a loanee for a permanent - feels a bit more like a ‘must get promoted’ move if we think he improves us.
As things stand, EVatt has said that nobody needs to go. So we'll see.

It's worth noting that regardless of the issue with the loan in Portugal, or some mutterings around his path to the first team, this is a lad who has made senior appearances for Liverpool and who Liverpool felt could cut it playing in the top division in Portugal.
Presumably he might offer something very useful at League One level.
I'm excited to see what that is.

Yep. It just feels exciting to get a 20 year old who Liverpool have handed a contract to. Hope it works out. But feeling better now we have that left sided option I’ve been banging on about all summer.GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Wed Aug 31, 2022 5:29 pmIt's worth noting that regardless of the issue with the loan in Portugal, or some mutterings around his path to the first team, this is a lad who has made senior appearances for Liverpool and who Liverpool felt could cut it playing in the top division in Portugal.

What we've also done over summer, I've just realised, is signed an entire back four plus keeper: Traf / Beck-Iredale-Toal-Bradley. Now true, three of those are loans, but very good ones; and I think we all agreed we wanted to upgrade the defence over summer.
Def-mid next, and any available geniuses further forward.

I’m getting feeling this might be it but I guess you never know on deadline day.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Wed Aug 31, 2022 5:43 pmGood good.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Wed Aug 31, 2022 5:37 pmYep.
