You mean, watch YouTube, panic, over bid, say how great they are and then ignore the new signing?jjpp wrote:Just clocked this on the bbc deadline day feed:
Ever wondered how these last-minute transfer deals work?
Wonder no more, as former Burnley, Bolton and Wigan manager Owen Coyle gives his step-by-step guide to signing a player, from scouting them and approaching a club to the medical and finalising a contract.

Can't listen as at work but I wonder if he refers to the Sordell deal here?

The Ince move may have been hijacked (no suprise as we are incapable of closing deals efficiently) so Pulis may look at Lee if this falls through.

Eagle in peace - difficult to say until Pulis has finished his spree but any idea which of your players won't make the 25-man squad and might therefore fancy helping their old gaffer up here?

From BBC. "The 20-year-old, who has joined the club from FC Differdange, will initially spend time with the Championship side's development squad."
I don't see any real timeline for his intro to the first team. This whole team reorganisation is turning into one massive clusterf***k.

Re: PLYMOUTH'S stupendously all singing dancing transfer thr
Hi,
Hmmm, tricky. We signed a lot of dross in a poor summer window. But, here are the movements so far;
Out
Kebe to Leeds on loan (he will leave at end season)
Hunt to Barnsley on loan (think he will return - he broke his leg in training just after joining us so this is to get him playing again)
Grandin - released. Shocking.
Phillips - released and signed for Leicester.
Possible outs are;
If we sign a LB - Moxey (who is well liked by a substantial part of our fan base. Can have 3 good games, 1 poor so a little inconsistent)
If we sign a DCM - Dikgacoi/O'Keefe (both would do a good job but O'Keefe is better. Dikgacoi has weight issues.
If we sign a winger - Thomas (but always injured)
If we sign a CF - Wilbraham (well liked as a trier but ony 1 goal in last 35 years)
Other than this, it's difficult to tell. This is Pullis first window so it may throw some surprises.

Cheers chief. Interesting to see Tony's bought a keeper, thought Speroni had been doing well. Joe Ledley's a decent player too.Eagle in peace wrote:Hi,

Of those potential outs, how many are Dougie's blue-eyed boys? Like most managers from Clough and Fergie on downwards, he's not averse to re-hiring a familiar face.

I just had a look ... to be fair to him he's scored 3 in total since March 2009.jaffka wrote:He is nailed on for us, will fill in perfectly.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:cheezus!Eagle in peace wrote: Wilbraham (well liked as a trier but ony 1 goal in last 35 years)
Too good for us then.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

No worries. yes, Hennessey but not yet confirmed. Jules was shakey early on but has performed very well since Holloway left. If we do buy 6' 3'' Hennessey, I guess the fee will indicate whether he will get No.1. I would not think we would allow Jules to go anywhere.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Cheers chief. Ledley may release Dikgacoi/O'Keefe, both of whom would be viewed as DF's boys. So too, Moxey and Wilbraham.
EDIT Hennessey signs for 3.5 year, reported £3m fee. As I said, don't think Jules would be allowed to go, but I am rubbish at calling things! One consideration is Jules will be keeping an eye on the World Cup, and it's not inconceivable he may scrape the Argie squad.

Don't worry mate we're not after your goalkeeper. Biggest priority is a left-back, so interesting re Moxey - but he's just come back in because Parr's out. Even if you signed a new leftie, wouldn't it leave you short of cover?Eagle in peace wrote:No worries. yes, Hennessey but not yet confirmed. For all the Sky ballyhoo this isn't really our deadline, I suspect we'll be busier in the loan window – which this season's FL regulations seem to say goes from a week after this window until the fourth Thursday in March. I rather suspect we'll be perusing the resubmitted Premier League 25-man squads, seeing who's been left out of them that might do a job, and offering them a temporary home if the wages can be shared (after all, the PL clubs can't select unregistered players).

A midfielder though .... I don't get it.ChrisC wrote:Alan Nixon @reluctantnicko Protected Tweets · 2m

Unless maybe Pratley's time is being called. Medo as Dougie seems clueless on how to use him, and Spearing seems to be the favoured one of the twins, maybe .... which would be a shame.
He must ... just, SIMPLY must, be looking at defenders. ...... mustn't he ???

Re: PLYMOUTH'S stupendously all singing dancing transfer thr
I too am slightly confused at the idea of signing another midfielder, but it's presumably not an either-or. You'd imagine we have a slice of wage-wedge set aside for a left-back (and/or Dawson), and there's only so many calls you can put in. Meanwhile, there's a chance of signing someone we've had our eye on... why not?
Re: PLYMOUTH'S stupendously all singing dancing transfer thr
By all means let's have them all, but if Cravies has to go to fund a LB as we're told, why bring in Jutkiewicz (?) and Mason and a midfielder? Doesn't add up.
