Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Ha, nope. I remember incurring the wrath of our resident Hungarian at the time because I think it's a good tool. I'd hope we never signed anyone based solely on it, but I'd back an amateur fan to be better than random guessing at saying who is a quick winger or a technically gifted central midfielder. The still might be shite, mind, so have a look.jaffka wrote:don't be so touchythrowawayboltonian wrote:It was a statement neither for nor against. Wow. He's not moved from fecking Mongolia! Jeezus. They'll have been paying him enough to live in Lostock or similar surely. It's the same as Hampshire, but a bit wetter. That's not homesick; that's being a mard prick. Tenner says he doesn't make it!bobo the clown wrote:Oh .. bum.Riviman wrote:http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/wa ... _/?ref=mac

Most kids move well away from home at 18 and survive pretty well. Being homesick at 21? Nahhhhhhh
I mean I'd be more sympathetic were he from abroad, culture change and all that.

We're gonna get a bad reputation now, 2 youngsters 'home sick' in the past couple of years.
Bloody southerners for you though

All that said, and yes it seems a wimpish excuse, if we honestly thought he had "it" then allocating a minder to mollycoddle him would be a worthwhile expense.

Aye but for a foreign player not used to the country I can see a minder being useful. But I'm not sure how a minder could stop a 21 year old missing his family and friends from down South which is presumably what the homesick in this case really means.bobo the clown wrote:All that said, and yes it seems a wimpish excuse, if we honestly thought he had "it" then allocating a minder to mollycoddle him would be a worthwhile expense.

Admitted, but clearly something was needed.BWFC_Insane wrote:Aye but for a foreign player not used to the country I can see a minder being useful. It's not like he gave it much of a chance .... he signed around April didn't he. It's been close season or a lot in between. He must have been brooding in the Holiday Inn for barely a few weeks. He could have at least given it a while being Nando man.
The speed we seem to have let him go and the apparent lack of fight to keep him suggests the club had decided he wasn't going to be much of a loss I guess. It'll be interesting to see if he already has a better option.

Either that or he's had a fall out with Freedman. Unlikely I know because our Dougie seems such a people person who gets on with everyone but you never know.

Exact-a-fecking-mundo. How many of Allardyce's 'foreign mercenaries' wanted to leave because they were homesick? Answer? Not a one. Mard prick. Better off rid if that's his attitude.Prufrock wrote: Wow. He's not moved from fecking Mongolia! Jeezus. They'll have been paying him enough to live in Lostock or similar surely. Well seems like all players he's worked with in the past are happy enough to work with him again. Which rather inconveniently suggests he might be a decent enough boss.....CrazyHorse wrote:Either that or he's had a fall out with Freedman.
