Re: Club Rebranding
Personally, I couldn't give a shiny shite what club crest we use. It's just so irrelevant to me. However, BL3 has a point in that to some fans it does matter. It's also fair to say that it would be a fairly easy thing for the club to consult on, and given it would be a decent gain for minimal effort, I can't really see much of an argument for not doing so (if indeed they haven't?).

In this case, the hand wringing and foot stamping and open letter writing isn't about the crestBWFC_Insane wrote:Personally, I couldn't give a shiny shite what club crest we use. It's about the sponsor
It's pathetic

It shouldn't just matter to the fans, it should matter to the club.
They email match programmes to everyone on their database before every home game. Surely it wouldn't have been that difficult to email a questionaire about the club crest. Can you imagine any other multi million pound business introducing a new logo without any market research?

Everton statement: "You have spoken to us loudly and clearly. We are sorry. It is clear that you wanted to be involved in the selection of our new club crest. Evertonians from all sections of the fan-base will be pulled together in a fully transparent way. This group will conduct an in-depth review of all aspects of past and present Club Crests. The panel will then develop ideas and put forward suggestions to you. Evertonians will make the final decision."

The owners have taken into account the fans views on this very important aspect of a club’s profile
Palace's chairman: “When we put a number of badges to vote a year ago we received a real cross section of opinion and have taken these views on board."

Re: Club Rebranding
What exactly does the club crest have to do with sponsors or their logos? Just wondering like.
Si Deus pro nobis, quis contra nos?
Re: Club Rebranding
Or more appropriately, what exactly does the sponsors or their logo have to do with a thread entitled 'Club Rebranding'?

Re: Club Rebranding
Obviously, its just a crest, but, imo, the use of 1905 is a little naughty
I believe the current incarnation of the club dates back to 2000
Those shareholders shafted by earlier regimes no doubt share my view

Confirmed by the club.

Re: Club Rebranding
Bolton Wanderers FC are pleased to announce QuickQuid as their new principal sponsor in a two-year partnership deal.
"We are excited to welcome QuickQuid as our new principal partner," said Phil Gartside, Club Chairman. "In our discussions it became obvious very quickly that both parties wanted to develop a partnership that engaged with all elements of the football club and community, and as much as anything else, to bring some real fun to matchdays.
Eh? 'Spot the bailiff' perhaps?

Clearly this ties in with the matchday announcer dude going.LeverEnd wrote:Bolton Wanderers FC are pleased to announce QuickQuid as their new principal sponsor in a two-year partnership deal.

There seems to be more to this sponsorship deal than meets the eye. Unlike previous deals it sounds like more than just a "name on the shirt". Interesting to see what happens......

Hope it's good consdiering the club has kicked out a good guy with a long association with the club apparently because it's jumped into bed with a bunch of loan sharks.BWFC_Insane wrote:Clearly this ties in with the matchday announcer dude going.LeverEnd wrote:Bolton Wanderers FC are pleased to announce QuickQuid as their new principal sponsor in a two-year partnership deal.

Re: Club Rebranding
The outrage on the facebook page is definitely interesting. A sponsorship deal is very give and take. But it doesn't look like the deal will be doing them any good with a reaction like this!
Re: Club Rebranding
it's not universally popular. I hate it!BL3 wrote:Football clubs need to learn that the club crest is part of the core identity of a club, not just some throwaway logo. Everton have decided to ditch their new club crest already! They'll wear it for one season only before starting the whole process again this time in consultation with their supporters. Palace on the other hand, did it properly and consulted the supporters throughout the process. The result is that they now have a new club crest that is universally popular.

There is outrage on there about every single thing that happens. I strongly suspect that those people that bother to comment all share the same brain cell!Vertigo wrote:The outrage on the facebook page is definitely interesting. EDIT: You prompted me to look, really wish I hadn't. My life was very complete without some of these pearls of wisdom.....
Disgrace Gartside !! Tarnishing our famous team with this ! Resign now !!
*face plants hand * not the best move i do not agree in one bit with the way "pay day lones" go about it i want to borro 20 quid ok but u have toi pay back £1872386652476234 not happy but never mind i still love bwfc
First online gambling. Then payday loans. What next? Abortion clinics???
How much would a season ticket cost If I borrowed the money from quick quid ?? Gartside U nob !
Terrible decision! Surely a decent local business like Warburtons would have been interested!
For balance there were a few sensible points raised, both for and against. Just stuns me when people name Warburtons and shit like that without either knowing the situation or bothering to check it out!!!!!I wont be buying the bolton shiry

Re: Club Rebranding
hmmmm... payday loan company inspired matchday fun.... nope - I'm stumped!!
Re: Club Rebranding
KD could sponsor the shirts - he must be able to afford £200,000 or £500,000 - whatever..
then he'd get his name on the shirt every week and his missus would be happy...

Re: Club Rebranding
Whilst I'm not inclined to be enamoured with companies such as QuickQuid, I don't find them any more distasteful than say Quick fit. A company that lures in unsuspecting punters with some catchy TV advertising and then rips them off in any way it can.
At least with QuickQuid everyone knows it's a short term loan company and what they are entering in to. The average granny that puts her trust in Quick Fit has no idea how much they're going to shaft her for.
