Both events are on the highlights page.TKIZ! wrote:Looked good, just read on a Watford fans blog that he felt Almunia dropped the ball for the goal as Beckford had slid in on him earlier in the game. For me if the ball goes into the box and it's a 50/50 ball the striker is entitled to go for the ball

Anyone else prefer us in all white?

I did love his trick of throwing the ball in to no-one, close to the by-line where it was instinctively knocked out for another corner. Nothing to do with the fact Almunia is a bit of a Calamity Jane then.TKIZ! wrote:Looked good, just read on a Watford fans blog that he felt Almunia dropped the ball for the goal as Beckford had slid in on him earlier in the game. Good result yesterday. Obviously it was a lucky goal for us but it's good to keep another clean sheet, especially against a good attacking side like Watford.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Should always be blue shorts, unless there is a colour clash.

Beckford did nothing to force the mistake, so why would he deserve credit? Unless we're praising strikers for being able to score from a yard out when the keeper is incapable of making a save, he did nothing to deserve praise. Even a goal like Giroud's yesterday was lucky, although he, unlike Beckford, actually forced the error.Bruce Rioja wrote:Yeah. No credit to Beckford whatsoever. Yeah. Any time a player makes such a massive blunder, the team that capitalises on it is lucky. That's not debatable.

No, he didn't do anything to force the mistake, he was alert enough to pick up on it though. Clearly that hasn't registered with you.SmokinFrazier wrote:Beckford did nothing to force the mistake, so why would he deserve credit? By the way - what have you to say about our recent run of form?

Wow really? So when any player makes an error and it leads to a goal is that it? What about putting them under pressure and being in the right place at the right time.SmokinFrazier wrote:Beckford did nothing to force the mistake, so why would he deserve credit? Re: Three in a row? Pozzotively. No sting in this tale!
He would have had every right to have simply missed seeing the opportunity. It was a 1 in a 1,000 chance that the keeper would miss the ball. It would have been reasonable to have already planned to chance his position and get ready to retreat. Once the ball is fumbled it took some speed of mind to realise and spot where it was and then lift it so it cleared any trailing legs or arms.
No, not goal of the season, but it still needed scoring.
