What he's actually twatted was - "Mills could be a few weeks ... Pratley injury more complicated than first imagined."Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Does "some time" include a couple of days? Only, the BN yesterday said Pratley would be back for Blackburn and didn't mention Mills at all...BWFC_Insane wrote:According to Nixon Mills and Pratley are both out injured for some time.
Fecks sake! Are we ever going to have anything other than bad luck piled upon more bad luck?
There's a full interview with Mills in the BN in which there's no mention at all of him being injured.
Not too bothered about Pratley as it means that we'll (hopefully) start with Zinedine ZiDanns. If Mills is crocked though then that's a crushing blow.

Presumably the Mills interview was after the game, before any injury was known about.Bruce Rioja wrote:What he's actually twatted was - "Mills could be a few weeks ... He went down for a bit and looked like he'd have to come off at the time. I remember coz I got heart palpitations seeing Knight warming up!
Don't like this one. Had a ring of the 'oh dear turns out Wheater is out for 9months about it.
Not arsed about Pratley though.

Oh undoubtedly. He'll be slated for a return in a few weeks, come back in 4 months time, break down, be out for a year then come back and look utterly shite again before breaking down injured once more.Prufrock wrote:He went down for a bit and looked like he'd have to come off at the time. They can't do anything about a knee ligament injury or a shoulder that pops out though.bobo the clown wrote:Thank God we have a new, sooopa-dooopa medical team.

We've had terrible luck with injuries now, I'd say since Holden's injury.
Other way to look at it I suppose is we had good luck with injuries prior to that, in that major players who we relied on generall managed to stay fit.....

so basically its the same as before

Holden does stand as a possible turning point, though Sean Davis maybe was the very beginning of this awful run.BWFC_Insane wrote:They can't do anything about a knee ligament injury or a shoulder that pops out though.bobo the clown wrote:Thank God we have a new, sooopa-dooopa medical team.

I have to take your point about "They can't do anything about a knee ligament injury ..." of course. Though in the Davis, Holden etc. cases it seems clear that our then system didn't exactly follow-up with the greatest processes.

Like Quinton Fortune perhaps, or Sean Davies?BWFC_Insane wrote:They can't do anything about a knee ligament injury or a shoulder that pops out though.bobo the clown wrote:Thank God we have a new, sooopa-dooopa medical team.

Re: Abdoulaye's going t'Souk transfer thread
I think Holden's case is pretty unusual and I'm far from convinced our medical staff were at fault. He had an op by a specialist had screws in his knee, was cleared to return by specialist, returned, screws moved, more damage further time out......I mean it is horrible but probably nothing that really could have been done. Then he broke down a third time on international duty.bobo the clown wrote:Holden does stand as a possible turning point, though Sean Davis maybe was the very beginning of this awful run.BWFC_Insane wrote:They can't do anything about a knee ligament injury or a shoulder that pops out though.bobo the clown wrote:Thank God we have a new, sooopa-dooopa medical team.

I think if you get a lot of muscle injuries like hamstrings and calf strains and the like (and I mean a lot not the odd one here or there) you might question fitness, preparation etc.
But we seem to be suffering with fairly injuries you just can't prevent on the whole....

Re: Abdoulaye's going t'Souk transfer thread
Quinton Fortune was a bit part player, never one we relied on. Sean Davis? I guess, but in general we were relatively lucky with injuries beforehand. The list of long term absentees from Holden, Muamba, Mark Davies, Lee, Wheater, Tierney etc etc that we've suffered over a relatively short space of time is pretty shocking really.TANGODANCER wrote:Like Quinton Fortune perhaps, or Sean Davies?BWFC_Insane wrote:They can't do anything about a knee ligament injury or a shoulder that pops out though.bobo the clown wrote:Thank God we have a new, sooopa-dooopa medical team.

If only we had a left-back, Mills' injury (tbc) might mean we could shift Ream into the middle.
Knight and Wheater... oh my.

and if it is correct that Mills is injured, just in time for the centre half partnership to be reformed against the team that gubbed us earlier in the seasonDave Sutton's barnet wrote:If only we had a left-back, Mills' injury (tbc) might mean we could shift Ream into the middle.

Besides that 1-4 at Blackburn, ZK&DW also played together in the 0-1 home to QPR and the 0-3 at Forest, plus the 1-1 draws with Burnley and Reading. The only time they've been on the pitch together since Blackburn was when Zat came on for Mavies in the 79th minute at Millwall. We conceded the equaliser three minutes later.

Clearly it isn't, as we've managed a good couple of seasons without a heart attack on the pitch. All thanks to our magnificent all-singing, all-dancing sports science stuff.jaffka wrote:so basically its the same as before
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Re: Abdoulaye's going t'Souk transfer thread
We've always had our occasional bad luck with injuries. I don't think this season is any more prevalent than any others. We've always managed to ride the storm with teams that have performed over their expected performances.
The injury table is an easy place for players to hide (N'Gog seemed to be the case) but we've always had those who wanted to pull up their socks and graft it out.
Hopefully a win on the weekend will spearhead us in the right direction.

Alan Hutton, Villa (not playing) Right back, ex-Rangers and Spurs.
Should suit at Division 2 level ... hopefully.
It alo says Pratley will probably be out for the season as he 'popped a screw' in his shoulder and it will take some while to sort out.

Happy with that one if true. Should mean we have a proper right back, Baptiste at left back and Ream partnering Wheater in the middle - assuming Mills is definitely out.bobo the clown wrote:http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/ ... on-3189912

Re: Abdoulaye's going t'Souk transfer thread
Always thought Hutton was a decent player, would be happy if we got him on loan but he's not a left back.
Re: Abdoulaye's going t'Souk transfer thread
I hope he has been keeping himself fully fit because he hasn't played yet this season.
