I know this is meant as a joke but I fear there is truth here.
I'm not sure I was joking. Looked like 2 fairly evenly matched sides and we seemed to play as well as I've seen us play for the best part of a year.
Maybe we could find a level at which we could win?

You're right! I was at 13th v 14th in the conference yesterday - we'd have beaten either of them. :D

I thought we were lucky-ish, which tbf is not good enough. Yes, the pitch was awful, and that probably acts as a leveller but it was the same for them too. They had two golden chances to kill it off at 1-0. Can't knock their application, playing against a team playing in the biggest game of their lives you can easily lose when you find yourself up against it, and they kept going, can fault their quality.

Surprised to see Amos has got away scot-free again after their goal. Entirely his fault from where I was (though I haven't seen a reply). They had men in the box, but no-one attacked it and it was running through to Amos. Doreen at the front post hasn't got eyes in the back of the head though, clearly waited for a shout that didn't come and then caught in two minds tried to knock it to safety. He managed it, of a fashion, we kept the ball. Amos should have been screaming for that. If he does, no danger.

Doreen was pretty wank though. Rest of the back 4 fine. Pratley his usual try-hard achieve-little. Thought Danns was poor, didn't close down when he should have, went on his own when he shouldn't. Gave it away cheaply and in bad areas, and poor on it (though the pitch didn't help). Think the shreiks when Vela was taken off were not because we were putting a striker on, but because it wasn't Danns being hoiked. Feeney same as always, positive, pace hard-working, limited end product. He's far from the worst player in the team. Wellington, f*cking wank. All he did was try backheels and flicks on that pitch. Feck knows what Lennon meant when he said he was looking at the pitch before picking the team. Nadine was his usually tart self. Bullied out of it and whinging when it didn't go his own way. Poor man's David N'Gog, and that's f*cking saying something, because David N'Gog is for a pretty poor man.

Cheers to DSB for sorting us with a ticket. Wandered back to the Cricketers Arms post-game; you'll all be please to know Dan was there at the bar. Took fecking ages to get home. Glad we didn't go out, that would've been one to tell the grand-kids. Confident we'll win the replay, but there's no hiding that we aren't very good.

See, as I pointed out to my mate. Our little Darlings didn't learn to play the game on carpet type pitches. Also, we all knew what the pitch was going to be like, so why weren't we training on Newhouse Farm? (Astley Park is a better point of reference for you, my man).

No idea! I mean the lad's shite as it is, but Wellington must have been wondering what the f*ck was going on. Not only that, we were busy trying to play tippy tappy bits at the back as if we were at the bok. No clear idea that we'll try to play if we can but if not I'm spinning this into the corner to turn them and see what the pitch does. You'd be pissed off to watch that every week, but that's what you have to do on pitches like that.

Tbf, Eastleigh knocked it around as well as we did - less build up but sharp and on the deck - if they did get hold of it in our half. Rest of the time they turned us and their bald lad up top ran his arse off chasing everything he could.

So the match featuring the only non league side left in the cup is not worth broadcasting seems odd

To be fair that was a cracking tie first time round and there is lots of interest in Leicester this year. For me that one is fine.

The other two however, how we didn't get ahead of BOTH those is beyond me.

That's what happens when the BBC is told to chase audience figures. That and creating sex scenes in War & Peace.

Bristol City v WBA should be a good game, given the bad blood between Pulis and Cotterill. And Exeter going to Anfield is an interesting story, more so IMO than Eastleigh coming to a quarter-full Macron, home to one of the worst teams in the Football League.

Normally I'd agree but I do think Leicester Spurs is the pick of the times. Mainly because Leicester are the ultimate underdog, rags to riches football story right now. And they play good stuff, as do Spurs.

Yeah but it's Leicester reserves v Spurs reserves. No Mahrez, Vardy, Ali or Kane in the starting 22 first time around.
