I'm starting to think some people still live at home. The young chap has been with us since he was 8? Sees an opportunity with a much bigger Club than we're likely to be for the foreseeable and takes it... Why the fcuk would he not? If he's playing the 14 day time out, then he hasn't been paid the relatively small amount an academy player is likely to get. The notion that people would do any different just bemuses me.
Seriously ?, so please tell me what's the point of having a youth / academy system, investing in, training & developing these players over 10 years or so - if they can just fcuk off whenever they feel like it.
What do you want - slaves? A return to feudalism?
That's not a leopard!

Meh, I totally get him going and have no issue...the contract things probably the difference of a few hundred grand, and who would get the cash anyway? The creditors? I think he’s making a poor career move though...jockoland 😂

Sad to see him move -- especially to the sectarian/racist pub league

So much for the administrators blocking the move.

Suspect the admin put a sensible price on it, Celtic will have given us a few hundred grand to not mess about with it. Once his heads gone there’s little point fighting. I’d wish him all the best etc but I’m not that arsed really, 10 games for us, plenty of time injured, he’s hardly gone down as a club legend. Tara!

Something akin. I own a country pile, measuring in the region of square inches.

The club needs to turn itself around to become a place where people can put their heart into it. Realistically can you blame Connell? He’s a 17 year old lad who has a bright future. Is that really going to be realised by staying at Bolton in a team of misfits cobbled together at the last minute, where for the past few months he’s not been paid, team mates and coaches haven’t turned up and the training facilities have been neglected with no food/water? Not sure I’d be that keen to stay among the chaos if I was in his position.

Don’t blame him for going at all!

If I were him I would have gone to play for a team in the championship where I could develop in an actual football league but he’s gotta look after himself, might be his last big move!

He’s not done us any favours - so he can’t expect a thank you...

I hope he goes well in the future. He’s a young kid with a bit of talent. As for the ‘not doing us any favours’ bit, he’s probably seen it as his best way to make a quick exit. Other teams will be starting pre seasons now, so moving now will give him the best chance of settling in.

It really is sad seeing how unattractive to players now though. If I had any chance of a gig elsewhere I’d be off. At the moment we have no owners, starting the season on minus god knows what, have about 8 players, no clear pre season plans, and we’re massively limited who we’ll be able to sign. Add to that managerial uncertainty. Why on earth would anyone stay, especially if any goodwill they had towards the club has been eroded in the last few months with the pay issue?

How's about, you can only play for the town/city you were born in? Home grown talent sort of thing.......Er, no, maybe not. Not much call for football in Katmandu I suppose. Daft, but is it any dafter than what's going on right now? Football is run by spivs, chancers and money investors. We even hire the Mafia to sell our home grown barm cakes.....

Christ. Even my 5 aside team had a squad of 8 to manage a season.

We've still got enough for five-a-side.
The administrators need to be lobbying for all our games in that format for next season. I'm sure the EFL will agree to it.

Maybe the EFL will let us play both our goalkeepers to compensate?
