Who was yon South African-based Zimbabwean we were after whom an agent (probably Willie McKay) whisked off to Pompey instead? Did the sum total of arse-all?seanworth wrote:http://www.thezimbabwean.co.uk/sport/fo ... grade.html

Just looked at the Zimbabwe national squad and they've got a 35-year-old striker called Danger Fourpence who used to play for CAPS United...

Re: TKIZ's impossibly brilliant all new Transfer Rumours thr
Can't remember his name, but believe he was a total flop. I believe he refused to work out for Big Sam then Portsmouth thought if big sam is interested he must be good and signed him immediately. 50 meat pies later and 10kgs more weight they realized they had fecked up.

(from Wiki .... so read with caution, but it seems about right) ; -ohjimmyjimmy wrote:If memory serves, Collins Mbesuma?
Mbesuma never started a match for Portsmouth; he only came on for a total of 4 brief substitute appearances, all in the first half of the 2005/06 season.
In July 2006 he began a season long loan with CS Marítimo where he appeared to be regaining his form – netting in vital goals early in the season and receiving the Swan d'Or, an auspicious monthly Portuguese football award. However his form soon dipped and his goal tally climaxed at a total of just seven goals. He returned to Portsmouth in June 2007 after playing 23 games for the Portuguese team.
His transfer from Kaizer Chiefs to Portsmouth in August 2005 is one of those about which the Stevens inquiry report in June 2007 expressed concerns
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

If we buy,and start, Jerome and Ranger AND finish with a positive goal difference then Coyle has to be a shoe in for manager of the season.
Although that last part still worries me I guess it's all good news, especially as it all seems to be concluded on our terms not WhelansWigan have won the race for Ali Al-Habsi and will sign him in a £4million deal this weekend.
Keeper Al-Habsi, 29, starred on loan for the Latics last season and helped them survive.
Now he is poised to wrap up a permanent switch to Roberto Martinez’s Wigan side in the next 24 hours.
The Oman international is being sold by Bolton to raise funds for targets including Birmingham striker Cameron Jerome.

Correct - plus Tal Ben Haim, Blessing Kaku and Julio CesarTKIZ! wrote:So was Al Habsi's if memory serves me right?
Lord Stevens initially named 17 transfers he wanted more information about. The others were Drogba, Cech and Essien to Chelsea; Emre, Boumsong, Amdy Faye and Albert Luque to Newcastle; Mbesuma, Benjani and Aliou Cisse to Pompey; and Yakubu and Rochemback to Boro (plus one curiously unnamed transfer).
There's more information online if you care to search for it, and not just on forums. I'd rather not repeat it here just in case, but suffice to say there were several arrests of well-known names, although none were ever charged.

Look - we are bottom-feeders. We have to wait for the shake out from wealthier clubs' dealings. That's that!

The first time I read this I thought you meant Michael Owen and Sammy Lee, was very confused for a few seconds.TKIZ! wrote:http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528, ... 96,00.html

Mirror are once again reporting we're after Thiago, some story about also getting Rodrigo in permanently to help convince the lad.
I think after the recent U21 tournament Thiago's value has just gone up a few million, if we weren't priced out the market already I have to think we are now!! Still a loan deal would be very, very good work.
As an aside weren't we also linked with Real's Sergio Canales in December (along with West Ham iirc
). Seeing as he wasn't given any more game time since December, and would again fit into the Coyle mould perfectly, wouldn't he be worth another shout?? Only problem is, unlike Barca appear to be (
) , Real Madrid don't seem in a position where they have to sell to buy.

The Oracle has suggested that we are trying to get a deal for Rodrigo together in order that he can convince Thiago to move to The Bok as well.

Isn't there a rumour that Thiago is hinting that he wants to move to Chelsea?

can't really blame him if he goes there, would be a great long term replacement for fat frank. saying that it seems every man and his dog is linked with chelsea atm since half the football journos have suddenly developed a man crush on andre villas boas.

Chelsea
Arsenal
Spurs

Aye, but Villas Boas has said he wants to take Joao Moutinho with him from POrto and Fat Frank still has a couple of years left, I would suggest that another midfielder is not high on Chelsea's priority list.seanworth wrote:Isn't there a rumour that Thiago is hinting that he wants to move to Chelsea?
Athers, I also noticed that are we not even bigger than Malaga?
