I thought you had to be Italian to play for Watford?Puskas wrote:Don't worry - there's plenty of others that'll score for them against us.jaffka wrote:Not allowed to play against us either.
Good that, as he would have been a certain to score on opening day
I'm guessing that no one will match what he's currently on - which is why he isn't making a perm transfer - Sheff Weds, Leeds and a few others were supposed to be interested, but couldn't strike an agreement. Which sort of pisses you off. We're more than likely paying some of his wages.

Well Andrews play international football for Ireland, so he could be Italian for all I know.

Been trying quite hard today to get some goss but I failed
The goss is dry
We need strikers, they are this seasons left backs

You're just recognising a decent improvement against a very low starting point. He was ok.Bijou Bob wrote:Too? ?!! He was immense last season at both centre back and left back!
Re: Abdoulaye's going t'Souk transfer thread
He was OK at CB, he was baaad at LB, but in the same way he looked better at CB compared to his own efforts the year before, he looked ok at LB compared to the efforts of Baptiste, who had one or two pretty good games at LB stuck in among a series of ever-worsening horror shows!

I don't think you're giving the guy enough credit. He was excellent for me last season and it seems his clean sweep of player of the year trophies (albeit with little competition) backs that up. Yes, he was poor at the start of the 12/13 season but for consistency, he deserved to be the first name on the team sheet last year. He has grown in confidence, is one of the few players who can pick out a killer pass and seemingly rarely fails to find a white shirt when the ball is played long or short. It's fashionable to bash Ream and Bogdan, that doesn't make the criticism valid.

Re: Abdoulaye's going t'Souk transfer thread
He's a defender who can't defend! Being good on the ball (if we're ignoring Boris' favourite square ball to no-one) is an added bonus for a centre-half. He was certainly much better last year than the year before and I think that along with, as you say, the distinct lack of competition, deadline day loanee aside, meant he did well at the awards. Nevertheless, and despite having some v good games, he still had some horror shows too. He's still weak, still indecisive, and still gets himself wrong-side. His performance at Reading (where no-one covered themself in glory) was particularly laughable.
It's fashionable to knock Ream, because he's a defender who can't defend. It was fashionable to bash Boggers because he was a 'promising' keeper who'd shown no evidence of promise, other than limiting himself to gifting the opposition one golden chance per game by patting things out in front of him. He was excellent when he came back in last year, and I think pretty much everyone has recognised that.

Dougie quoted in the BN:
The comment about "we've got a bit of money" appears to be because we've shifted some/all? of Keith Andrews' wages off the bill, and in relation to further possible exits – Marc Iles mentions speculation over Craig Davies, which wouldn't exactly help the squad numbers, and Tom Eaves, which wouldn't exactly make us rich. Iles also mentions "two strikers and one wide man" and says "it is understood that the Whites boss is waiting for deals to go through at Premier League level before he can press ahead fully with his plans".I believe we need three players to come into the squad before the start of the season. And that will mean three will move out, or won’t play. We’ll deal with that when it happens.
I want them by the start of the season but I appreciate it’s not as simple as just saying that. If you're spending a lot of money then you can call the shots. If you're not, you can be dictated to time-wise.
I don’t want the attitude at this football club where we’ve got a bit of money and now all of a sudden we’ve got to spend it. I want to use the funds we have to get the right player when he comes up.
In an ideal world that would be tomorrow morning but unless you’ve got a large sum of money or you get a lucky break, it tends to be in other people’s hands because we’re not at that level right now. But I'm in the market and I'm confident we can get them done.

maybe go to that Burnley and let them make a small, but quick profit on the Juke then !!
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Oh yeah, forgot about Nemo. That's showbusiness. Talking about Keith Andrews in the BN, this made me smile...
Is Andrews really slower than Trotter?Wanderers had moved on in Andrews’ absence. Freedman wanted pace in his midfield and was looking towards Spearing, Medo, Vela and Liam Trotter.
The players you fail to sign never lose you any money.
