Re: PLYMOUTH'S stupendously all singing dancing transfer thr
I know these numbers are all conjecture, but we cleared, according to reports £35,000 a week last week on one waste of oxygen and another at maybe £4,000. We've brought in one on maybe £5,000 and another at around £7,000.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Who are these buggers bleeding us dry?BWFC_Insane wrote:The Bolton News say we can't sign him because we don't have the "funds". Indeed last week they ran a story saying Dawson wanted to come here but the money wasn't available unless we could shift another of our big earners.....bobo the clown wrote:maybe it's not just the fans who can see the situation.
And what the exploding tits do we do next year if we can't find a Brighton to take Keith Andrews off our hands?
As I said a few days ago ... can we afford NOT to take Craig Dawson on ?
Ship out Pratley, ship out Bogdan, ship out Wheater. Lee is flitting in & out of matches, when he plays. Eagles isn't getting games (much as he should be doing) and will certainly be off this summer. Get Mears out to some fckr ... even if we are still paying most of his wage.
Wigan outgunning us ... again. ffs ....
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

So next season we lose a further £8M chunk of the parachute payments. Which means that our turnover will go down accordingly (gate receipts will also probably go down along with merchandising).Turnover was recorded at £28.5million, in comparison to the previous season's figure of £58.5million, primarily due to the reduction in broadcasting revenue following relegation from the Premier League.
Total staff costs for the year were £37.4million, down from £55.3million, as a result of a number of players leaving the club as well as the evoking of relegation clauses in a number of players' contracts and making significant changes in overheads.
Read more at http://www.bwfc.co.uk/news/article/fina ... IzwuZ5S.99" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
We made a £50M loss. We need to lose no more than £8M next season on reduced turnover.
If a player is on £30K a week that amounts to ~£1.5M a year.
How many £1.5M's a year do we need to lose before we hit the FFP target?

The Dawson thing seems a bit similar to the Kevin Pieterson thing. Do you bring in a star player into defense who's way better than what you have with wages bigger than we'd like at the moment? Or, do you bring in a championship player / prospect at similar wages to our new level who is going to be happy sat on the bench with the money he's getting and not make anyone too jealous or rock the boat.
By not signing any defenders it seems like we're holding out for certain player(s)... maybe there are cheaper options?

The players you fail to sign never lose you any money.

As likely, this summer we'll loose;
Eagles £25k+ per week
Knight £25k+ per week
Mears £20k+ per week
That's £4m+ per year.
I'd also argue that given our squad and these players contribution this season, we wouldn't need to replace them.
Mills/Ream/Wheater/Baptiste/Bolger for centrebacks.
Hall/Lee/Danns/Bastos/Odelusi for wingers
Baptiste/Riley for right-backs
I'm not necessarily saying that these are the best replacements in the world, but if you look at contributions this season I don't think we'd lose much.

Which is handy, because I suspect we're going to need to shift more than that without replacements to hit FFP.Loyal White wrote:As likely, this summer we'll loose;

It isn't though. It is a target the club has said it wants/needs to hit. The reasoning behind it, doesn't really factor in. We need to comply with FFP. Which means making a loss of no more than £8M.boltonboris wrote:FFP. The new NET SPEND

I'd give you one of my exquisitely talented feet, if the domestic FFP rules are fully enforced. They don't even know what the rules actually are, nor what the punishment will be. They're making it up as they go along, with no idea what will happen if a club says, "you know what? feck yourself, as long as we're not in administration, we'll do what we want"

That is something oft repeated but the rules are laid out along with potential penalties. And I'd say that it is fairly clear. The first penalty is a transfer ban.boltonboris wrote:I'd give you one of my exquisitely talented feet, if the domestic FFP rules are fully enforced. As you say, nobody knows if they're going to enforce the penalties or not immediately.
But bottom line is, whether Eddie really is worried about FFP or is using it as an excuse to make the club stand without any more funding from him, is irrelevant. We need to in either scenario cut the costs as required so we break even or very near close to do so....

We see Wet Spam this week threatening Court action. That will be a drop in the ocean compared with FFP.
I'm unsure of the legalities of wafting generalities about rules and punishments, about matters which are largely retrospective, without any real knowledge of what the outcomes will be, let alone any real ability to alter the current position in these timescales.
You could take a £25,000pa Barrister and they'd still be able to drive a coach and horses through these ideas. Oh, they may fine Peterborough, or Bolton, or Hartlepool, but let them set their crosshairs on Citeh, or Chelsea and we'll see them run for cover.

Premier League clubs aren't having to comply with FFP. Apart from those competing in the Champions League and Europa League (and City for example are complying with them).bobo the clown wrote:.... fully agreed.boltonboris wrote:I'd give you one of my exquisitely talented feet, if the domestic FFP rules are fully enforced.
