Presumably an Elmander reference?
As much of any improvements in our squad seemingly attributable to being Owen COYLE could also result just as easily from not being Gary Megson..
SWP never for me ... he has had plenty of opportunities to be the player he was supposed to be.. Splinters in his arse from a number of top benches.. suggest that particular ship has long since sailed..
gold plate a turd... still a turd..

Stick him in a greenhouse and wait for him to grow 2' and we'll be sorted.

After we teach him how to play centre forward that is.

From the Fiver, regarding Jerome
As Tony Pulis sat down this morning on his stiff-backed steel chair to a no-nonsense breakfast of uncompromising bacon and hard-boiled eggs, he pondered again the forthcoming Premier League season. This, he mused, quaffing his cold milkless tea, will be his fourth consecutive campaign in the top flight and so far everything has gone according to his cunning no-frills plan. He declared when Stoke first came up and has repeated on loop ever since that his aim was to spend three years "consolidating" the club's Premier League position and then, with the amassed money and nous, he would begin to embellish his team's style and ascend to The Next Level.

He nearly strayed ahead of that schedule last season when some wizardly wing-play helped Stoke to the FA Cup final but then getting utterly outplayed at Wembley and concluding the season with a home defeat by Wigan proved that magic does not run through the harrying Potters just yet. So as the summer approached Pulis went scouting. He personally ran the rule over targets in France and elsewhere on the continent, and his assistant Dave Kemp no doubt told him all about the assorted conjurers he saw during his talent-spotting stint in South America.

And so the Fiver was intrigued, nearly even excited, to learn the identities of the two players for whom Stoke are said to have bid a princely £16m. Might Pulis be about to spruce up his central midfield and snaffle a pair of Colombian schemers before their values soar during the forthcoming Copa America? Is he poised to plunder Ligue 1 for buccaneering full-backs to complement the threats posed by Jermaine Pennant and Matt Etherington?

No.

Pulis's plot to add a new dimension to Stoke's play entails swooping on the cradle of creative expression that is St Andrews. And the £16m has been offered for Scott Dann, an admittedly fine centreback, and [Fiver rubs its eyes and double-checks dispatch] Cameron Jerome. That's Cameron Jerome, the quite fast, very hard-working forward-slash-substitute who rarely scores and could, come to think of it, probably fill in at centre-back if called upon. All of which perhaps brings us closer to Pulis's real vision: a team consisting entirely of centre-backs.

I'd take SWP but only on a loan with a view to permanent then we can see how he does. Would be interesting to see how he plays at a normal club and not a top 4 club.

I see one of our 'targets' (snigger) Neil Danns has left Palace for Leicester.
Also, Lorik Cana wants a return to the Premier League. Wish he'd make his chuffing mind up, he's like the littlest hobo.

I can't see anywhere that says we have had or rejected any sort of bid for Cahill?

According to theboltonnews.co.uk

ZAT Knight has informed Wanderers that close pal Shaun Wright-Phillips is willing to drop his wage demands in order to seal a move to the Reebok.

The winger is one of seven first-team City players who Roberto Mancini is trying to move on this summer.

The 29-year-old came close to signing on loan for the Whites in January when it is believed his salary demands prevented a deal going through.

But Knight reckons that issue is no longer an obstacle, and that Wright-Phillips could kick start his career with a spell playing under Owen Coyle.

The big defender said: “I always talk to Shaun and he’s a very good friend of mine. And speaking to him, he’d love to come to Bolton.

“He’s at that age now where he needs to be playing first-team football week in, week out.

“I think he hasn’t played regularly for the last two seasons. It’s about playing football and then the rest will come.

“If he had to take a pay cut then I think he would do, because he could progress at Wanderers and then something else could happen. But he’s a fantastic player and if people like that want to play here, then it shows how far the club has come.”

Wright-Phillips also interested Fulham in January but wants to stay in the North West after resigning himself to moving away from his boyhood club City.

He started just two Premier League games last season and dropped completely out of contention for England, making his last appearance in the 0-0 draw against Montenegro at Wembley, which also saw Kevin Davies make his international debut.

Wright-Phillips would be available for around £4million but it is not thought Coyle would consider him as part of any deal involving Gary Cahill. Nedum Onuoha and Dedryck Boyata remain the Wanderers manager’s preferred makeweights if Mancini meets the £17m asking price, but Wright-Phillips could well be an option later in the summer if funds are released.

Elmander, Sturridge, Wilshere, Holden...all of whom looked decent, but under Coyle looked amazing.

Oh and if the £4 million quoted above is true, then yes please.

A midfield four with Lee and Wright-Phillips as the wingers, Holden and Muamba or A N Other in the middle. Yeah, I'd prefer that to what we currently have, ie, Petrov.

I bet SWP isn't friends with Zat now, he's dropped him right in it!

To be honest I would be happy if SWP signed, in fact I'd be happy if Bradley Wright-Philips signed, I just want to see something happen!
