He's obviously just a wind up so there will be no stat that will shut him up.TKIZ! wrote:![]()
He says that showing one goal doesn't change the fact that it was still a long ball affair yesterday. I need cold hard facts. Sorry I don't want a disciplinary for chinning the smug, arrogant see you next tuesday but ihe's close to it
Just start singing about Rooney and brothels!

I'd advise all my fellow whites to read the comments on the MEN website regarding yesterday game, if you thought we had moaning/bitter/deluded fans, then you ain't seen nothing yet!
You can't beat glory-hunters having a good cry
The funniest thing of all is Man Utd in SECOND PLACE, but the fans are talking like they're Derby County from a few years ago

I got everything in first with my mates. Along the lines of "You gave us a really good game there, should be proud of your lads, a well earned point, restricted us to only a handful of chances, played to your strengths by equalising off a set piece, have a team that could easily get fourth spot".TKIZ! wrote:United fan at work says we 'resorted to type and played long ball for the majority of the game' now I dispute this but have no facts to back that up. Anyone know I handy site besides Opta stats that I could prove this scum bag a point. I'd hazard a guess we played about 50/50 long and short passes
Don't fall in to the trick of arguing on the ground of their choosing.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

They weren't aimless ones looking for flick ons in a 20 yard radius of Davies though.. they were accurate, astute and at a good height for him to either play off, or win a free-kick.hisroyalgingerness wrote:I have to say TZIK, I thought we were very long-ball this weekend. But for once, we were quite clever about it. The balls completely took the midfield out of the game - with the niggly Fletcher occasionally making it back to help crowd out Sir Kev.
Plus, if you don't challenge Jonny Evans to duels of this nature when you have Elmander and Davo.. You're feckin' naive!
Worked a treat, as we knew it would

What a big bag of billy bollocks.Bruce Rioja wrote:I really don't get this. In the moments that really mattered Knight may as well have produced a basket of rose petals to toss at Nani's feet and Elmander, for him not to at least put his embarrassing effort on target was unforgivable. Absolute shit.William the White wrote:Between Knight and Elmander for MotM for me - with Knight edging it
I thought Knight was outstanding yesterday - a far cry from the Knight some of us (including me) thought we had bought not so long ago.
As for Elmo, another great effort from him. Should he have scored - yes. Absolute shit - no. Worth noting that he was in no way outshone by England's number one striker who had the support of some of the most expensive and highly rated players in the game.
They're dirty, they're filthy, they're never gonna last.
Poor man last, rich man first.

Yeah, I agree fella. I thought we mixed it up nicely though. We played the long ball and some good down on the floor stuff too. I was just arguing with him that his statement about 'reverting to type' was actual horse poo.hisroyalgingerness wrote:I have to say TZIK, I thought we were very long-ball this weekend. Pfffft.
Going off my fantasy team which takes the bonus points for the 3 best players from them. Dunno where the official PA wire source is.Tombwfc wrote:It was given to Petrov wasn't it? Equally as odd I thought.Athers wrote:Surprised to see the PA gave Robinson MOM ahead of Nani and Elmander!

I'll tell you what I found irritating about it - and that's that the smallest player on the field got a free head on it. Slightly freak goal? Oh, that's the new poor defending then, is it?BWFC_Insane wrote:The Owen goal was irritating in the sense that its one of those slightly freak goals in that his header looped perfectly out of Jussi's reach.

As much as we should have had someone in front of Owen it wasn't actually a great free kick and 9 times out of 10 Owen would have headed it and it wouldn't have gone in.Bruce Rioja wrote:I'll tell you what I found irritating about it - and that's that the smallest player on the field got a free head on it. It was a bit of a freak goal from that standpoint.

Either way, makes a nice change seeing a Bolton player as MOTM when playing United.Armchair Wanderer wrote:Zat Knight was MOM on ESPN.Athers wrote:Surprised to see the PA gave Robinson MOM ahead of Nani and Elmander!
Petrov was MOM in the guardian today.
It seems like they put their hand in a bucket and see which name is pulled out

Well I think this performance puts to bed any reservations over Coyle fielding a 'weak' team against Burnley. We came flying out of the gate but even on fresh legs we tired quite a bit before halftime. I thought the ref did a pretty good job (ie I didn't notice him) and we really deserved all three points. Whoever said Elmander didn't play well needs to re-watch the match. He encapsulated our performance yesterday with his tireless chasing (and winning) of loose balls and the boldness he had in running straight at their defenders. He also seems to have become infinitely more comfortable playing off Davies and they can even reverse roles at times with Elmander knocking it down for Davies. Bring on West Brom.
