Re: Club Rebranding
Yeah it's a valid point. I mean quickquid are hardly a secret. You get a short term relatively hassle free loan with the caveat of a high interest rate.Enoch wrote:Whilst I'm not inclined to be enamoured with companies such as QuickQuid, I don't find them any more distasteful than say Quick fit. A company that lures in unsuspecting punters with some catchy TV advertising and then rips them off in any way it can.
At least with QuickQuid everyone knows it's a short term loan company and what they are entering in to. The average granny that puts her trust in Quick Fit has no idea how much they're going to shaft her for.
The fact that people fall victim to this sort of thing is not actually the fault of quickquid but of the economy we find ourselves in.
I can imagine plenty of people use quickquid and the like to their benefit and re-pay quickly as cash flow improves.
They aren't really taking advantage of anyone in the way portrayed. They exist primarily because there is a market there for them. And people are suffering because the market exists, not because quickquid are in it......

It's a bit cringeworthy as sponsors go. I must admit I can't get too worked up about it though.
At least it's not Wonga. I would never tire of smacking that wobbly-mouthed cockney on their earlier ads. Don't get me started on Betty, Earl and Joyce either! I'd melt them buggers.

I think we we spoilt with a relatively cool sponsor for years , smugly looking down and laughing at others with their crappy ones...and now we seem resigned to a succession of short term deals from naff money-rich betting & lending companies. Might as well get used to it, can't do a petition every time someone does something you dont like. We need the money after all, it's not like we're borrowing money off them...i imagine that 500 grand is ours to keep!

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Disgrace Gartside !! Tarnishing our famous team with this ! Resign now !!*face plants hand * not the best move i do not agree in one bit with the way "pay day lones" go about it i want to borro 20 quid ok but u have toi pay back £1872386652476234 not happy but never mind i still love bwfcFirst online gambling. Then payday loans. What next? Abortion clinics???How much would a season ticket cost If I borrowed the money from quick quid ?? Gartside U nob !Terrible decision! Surely a decent local business like Warburtons would have been interested! For balance there were a few sensible points raised, both for and against. Just stuns me when people name Warburtons and shit like that without either knowing the situation or bothering to check it out!!!!!I wont be buying the bolton shiry

Sponsored by a loan company? That should create a lot of interest. ![Neutral :|](./images/smilies/icon_neutral.gif)

Re: Club Rebranding
About all this froth on here.
Was anyone forced to take out a bet with 188Bet as a result of them putting money into the club?
Will anyone be forced to take out a loan that they can't repay for this lot doing likewise?

Re: Club Rebranding
The Purple Property Shop has decided to end its business relationship with Bolton Wanderers Football Club, following Bolton Wanderers' decision to accept sponsorship from Quick Quid (pay day loan company).
Re: Club Rebranding
probably take them six months to complete the forms to end the 'business relationship' , knowing estate agents.
Re: Club Rebranding
Are they suggesting that pay day loan companies are less honourable that estate agents!!!

They'll no doubt enjoy the free publicity the BEN will give them for doing so... at least with quickquid i know i'm getting my money in 15 minutes and not in some kinda endless limbo where the estate agent makes his secretery do the work he should and could be doing in ten minutes flat .
