I wasn't hugely keen on us signing SWP, mainly because it seems less than a priority to sign someone who plays in the same position as our best player (well, our best player outfield player, who can walk unaided).

Saying that, if he's got the right attitude and wants to play, I'll be happy to see him sign.

He might put one of them on the left.

allways been a fan of Swp and honestly feel we would use both swp and petrov in the same team swp's ability to beat defenders and his insane pace scares defenders and allthough his final product has allways been a shortfall for him he has what it takes to do extremely well for us

how i see us setting up with swp added to our current squad would be 433 with cyl dropping into a rcm role and spw and petrov upfront with Skd or Klasnic you never know!

I agree. If SWP really is desperate to come here and play and has the right attitude and would be flexible on his salary then I'd say he'd be worth it.

I even think if we play 4-5-1 SWP could play in an attacking central midfield role.

Just want to point out that we have no idea whether Coyle is interested in SWP. Its nice that he'd "like to come here" and all but he doesn't fit the profile of signing Coyle mentioned the other week.

I suspect City's transfer demands combined with SWP's wages (although reduced will still be considerable) may well put Coyle off!

Nay, that's Lees ideal role, imo

But not behind Davies

City are desperate to get rid of players like SWP and Bellamy, just to get them off their wage bill. I suspect they would only put up token resistance in transfer fee negotiations, if OC actually wants him that is.

True, true BWFCi. I wonder what Ian Wright would think about it, does he still despise us?

Should offer them £1.5m and see what happens for him

I think Lee drifts in and out of games too much at the minute to be effective in that role.

You are right re Davies though. This is why I worry we're stuck with 4-4-2 because Davies isn't being dropped, but in a 4-5-1 he'd offer no movement or pace up front whatsoever.

Hang on a second, when I suggested that about 3 years ago, you had one of your Victor Meldrews.

So re-cap of recent rumours then:

Rhys Williams
SWP
Gentiletti
Thiago
Cameron Jerome (who SSN insisted last night we'd had a transfer bids rejected)
