Useful, so long as he's not the main course.thebish wrote:I'm normally bright and perky about possible new arrivals - but i can't get excited about Mason...TKIZ! wrote:Bolton Evening News has re-linked us with Joe Mason on loan

Re: Abdoulaye's going t'Souk transfer thread
Is the right answer. Was good last year when paired with the Juke (AKA, a big target man). Was as shite as the rest of our forwards when stuck up front by himself. Or with the lethargic, apathetic Beckford.freeindeed wrote:Useful, so long as he's not the main course.thebish wrote:I'm normally bright and perky about possible new arrivals - but i can't get excited about Mason...TKIZ! wrote:Bolton Evening News has re-linked us with Joe Mason on loan
Happy to get Mason, but it's gotta be Mason + A.N. Other

Aye because we know that we don't have anyone for him to play off.thebish wrote:I'm normally bright and perky about possible new arrivals - but i can't get excited about Mason...TKIZ! wrote:Bolton Evening News has re-linked us with Joe Mason on loan
I like Mason but he wasn't the man who made the real difference last season. Until we fill that hole I fear we lack the ingredient we really need.

This'll test him. (Nixon, that is)Harry Genshaw wrote:Zaha on a 3 month loan according to Nixon
Can Zaha play the holding role ?
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

dunno - VG reckons he can't play wing-back, though...bobo the clown wrote:This'll test him. (Nixon, that is)Harry Genshaw wrote:Zaha on a 3 month loan according to Nixon

Already, though, Zaha is on the back foot. In a press conference in the early hours of Tuesday morning, Van Gaal made it clear that his new 3-5-2 system could restrict the 21-year-old’s role at the club, depriving Zaha of the freedom to play in his favoured position on the wing, where as a Crystal Palace player he dazzled with his dazzling step-overs and blistering pace.
It was this creativity that persuaded Palace supporters to place a gigantic post on London’s south circular with the words ‘He’s just too good for you’.

He's a professional. I bloody well hope he's too good for me.

despite his failure to break the ice at yernited - he'd be quite a catch, no?Harry Genshaw wrote:Zaha on a 3 month loan according to Nixon

... or at Cardiff on loan where Eluned says he had a real bad attitude. Sort of "I'm too big time to be here".thebish wrote:despite his failure to break the ice at yernited - he'd be quite a catch, no?Harry Genshaw wrote:Zaha on a 3 month loan according to Nixon
So long as he settles .... and enjoys his old boss .... then yes he should be a good catch.

Big test if it's true. He's gonna either be the kids who ripped the champo apart a year ago, but better... Or he's a promising kid who has pissed it away. I'm still sticking with Tom Ince to win.
