Just wanted to see it again. That photo is magnificent, I want it blown up and framed.

Should definitely be the picture on the top right, simply "We are Bolton" underneathe it.
There's a photo in my local with the words "who put the ball in the Munich net" etc and a picture (obviously) of ManUre scoring their second goal in 1999....I think someone might just drop KCD's picture in there later tonight

Which he did TWICE. Disgraceful referee to be honest, one of the worst I've ever seen.

I wanted to ask the same question - it seemed implausibly one sided from the ref to me, but it could have been the beer, the bias that is natural on such an occasion and the third tier view.

No, it was REALLY bad, it wasn't the beer. He gave them everything, even stopping the game to book Davies for dissent, giving them a free kick for some reason.

Yeah he was a bit of a homer - he could have given a pen against McCann without probably too much complaint on our side - but then again, we might have had one for handball in the first attack on a different day. All in all he was no worse than you would expect playing away against a "big team" IMO....no wirth moaning about.

hard to be picky and pick the bones out of this. it was an immense result. there is no way we had any right to take anything from that game. a full strength bayern and a bolton team missing 12 (according to megs) and to top it off.... we played shit!!! usually to take anything each 11 player has to be at the top of their game but we were able to pull this off with mccann playing shite, cid in the team, braaten uninterested and Davies not getting much luck off the ref.

ricky's goal was superb - classic example of needing to score when on top. it's easy to get greedy and think "what if" davies had scored his one on one. bayern deserved to come back into it and it was always going to come down the right hand side, mccann didn't once stop his man getting passed.

more unlucky with the second goal, i'm sure megson would have wanted us to keep it level for longer but then to be honest bayern shot themselves in the foot. whether it was arrogance, one eye on tomorrow's game (yes tomorrow, not sunday) or they simply couldn't see us scoring (not alone there at this point) but taking off Ribery was a terrible decision. coming back from injury or not he was a constant menace, and has improved a heck of a lot since Marseilles. saying that Toni wasn't exactly the worst sub to bring on.

megson countered that with ando who helped to create the equaliser. it felt fair at that point and would have been devastated if we'd had let that slip

has anyone mentioned the ref? we thought he had a shocker. some strange foul decisions against us, missed a blatant handball and seemed to have made up a new rule when looking at his watch to consider letting stelios back on the pitch

the trouble we've caused:
Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge argued with coach Ottmar Hitzfeld after the team failed to beat Bolton in the UEFA Cup.

Rummenigge was upset that coach Ottmar Hitzfeld rested five regulars, including top scorer Luca Toni and defender Martin Demichelis, for Thursday's 2-2 draw — its third in a row.

"It would have been easy to win the game," Rummenigge said. "There were 66,000 spectators in the stadium and they have the right to see the best team."

Hitzfeld rotated his players because Bayern plays VfB Stuttgart on Saturday, just 44 hours after the Bolton game. Hamburger SV has cut Bayern's lead in the Bundesliga to two points.

Hitzfeld described the game against Stuttgart as more important and said his players need to be fresh.

"We'll be hunted in Stuttgart," he said. "The entire Bundesliga is just waiting to see a new team at the top of the table."

Rummenigge's criticism was rare for the respected German coach. Hitzfeld is one of just two men to win the Champions League with two different teams — Bayern in 2001 and Borussia Dortmund in 1997.

The Bayern chairman dismissed Hitzfeld's arguments about prioritizing the two games, saying "football isn't mathematics." That also referred to Hitzfeld's former career as a mathematics teacher.

"I hope I understand one times one in football," an angry Hitzfeld retorted

arsene wenger... still a cock
"You have to be careful not to change the Champions League too much by bringing in even more weaker teams, because you could find yourself with games five and six with no meaning. That would be very dangerous for the quality of the competition," said Wenger.

"The UEFA Cup has a different problem. The mistake there is that, with groups of five, the best three teams qualify [for the knock-out stages].

"That means with four points you can go through. That is not serious.

"Last night in the UEFA Cup Bayern Munich took Ribery off after 60 minutes, Bastian Schweinsteiger after 70 minutes to prepare for the game on Saturday. That means it becomes a friendly game."
 cheers Arsene. Cheers very fecking much. Don't expect a card this year

Good to see to know about Mr Rummenigge :D

Thats what they always do.
When they cant win a match they have excuses of any kind
but in no case the other team was too good for them.

They are playing in the Arrogance Arena.

Some say they are our ManUtd.
