for all our huffin and a-puffin, today - we didn't actually trouble Gomes that much...
elmo hit the bar - we had one on the roof of the net??
sturridge - 2 in 2 - but... his goal was really a massive fluffer by Gomes... (still counts - etc... but..)

Just saw the hi lights and see the bitching about the ref was not underserved.
Re: Bolton Wanderers vs Tottingham Hotspur
I felt cheated with kranjcar's little magic. I felt we could have held on for a draw. Muamba should have had a go when we broke down the center. Feel that Elmo couldn't play on the right from the start, pretty much anonymous most of the game after 15 mins or so. Best I have seen Jussi played this season. Robbo was again very good.
If we keep playing that way, we should be okay rest of the season.
And yes Clattenburg WTF !!!!

Re: Bolton Wanderers vs Tottingham Hotspur
Nothing Elmander did today came off. Can't knock him for effort, just wasn't his day. KD played quite well for me and Sturridge isn't familiar with us enough yet. Against a good side away I thought we did really well for spirit and effort. Where the fxck did four minutes come from second half and why didn't Claterbuck allow time for Spurs celebrating at the end? Petrov seems to have lost his conviction and we were never going to beat Spurs away with the Clat in charge. The bias was in real evidence and the Cahill yellow instead of a penalty was an utter bad joke. All in all, not unexpected, but a heartening improvement on Wolves. We earned a point, but we were never going to get it. Linnekar will probably say they showed us how to play. Easy to find fault but it was no disgrace. We still need to improve but it was better. Jussi saved our skins a couple of times and Claterbuck is football's cnut of the year.midnitefooty wrote:I thought I was watching an Asian Cup game. Clatternberg been consulting for the AFC recently?
Not quite sure what Coyle had in mind with Taylor and Elmo on the wings. Add to that SKD's recent form and we ended up with a very lukewarm attack.Oh well.

Bolton boss Owen Coyle: "I hope you show all the penalty incidents on TV later. Such as the alleged diving (from Gary Cahill), for what I thought was a stonewall penalty. It was good result that's been taken away from us. Those decisions are costing teams every week."
Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp: "Our second penalty should never have been disallowed. After that I can genuinely say I didn't see the Gary Cahill incident. In the end, we deserved the win but needed a bit of magic from Niko Kranjcar - what a strike from him. His attitude is first-class. It's a great three points for us."

Re: Bolton Wanderers vs Tottingham Hotspur
I thought we were spirited in the second half after a uninspiring first. Said to my dad at half time that Sturridge would score but we'd lose 2-1. Sorry all. My fault too
4 mins.. wtf. Cahill's yellow card and lack of penalty... wtf. We couldn't hang on and I'm gutted.
And I don't give a sh*t about how 'great' the premiership is (like all other fans are saying). Stick your goals up your arses.

Re: Bolton Wanderers vs Tottingham Hotspur
So Harry conveniently didn't see a blatant mis-justice decision? Really? Now that is a surprise.

Re: Bolton Wanderers vs Tottingham Hotspur
Yes Clattenberg is a nice person and yes with better decisions given the way its gone who knows?
But lets face it, overall the scoreline still flatters us.
Spurs could have won by a far wider margin had they taken their chances.
We're still in danger of getting sucked into a distant relegation battle and I think the brave few going to away games will decline still more if we carry on playing such an open system with the unbalanced midfield we're playing currently.
M Davies and Holden is a no no for me. Trouble is we don't have many alternatives.
I still see a rather grim and relatively unpleasant second half to the season. I'm struggling to remember the last time we've actually played well!

Re: Bolton Wanderers vs Tottingham Hotspur
It seems as though our best squad changes from game to game. After today I would prefer Muamba to Mavies. Would love to see Davies start on the bench next game just to see how we will go.
Re: Bolton Wanderers vs Tottingham Hotspur
We have 33 points. We will not be in any relegation battle. Just because we're used to it doesn't make it a given every season.BWFC_Insane wrote:We're still in danger of getting sucked into a distant relegation battle and I think the brave few going to away games will decline still more if we carry on playing such an open system with the unbalanced midfield we're playing currently.

Elmander needs to be benched against Everton... he's clearly not bothered about playing, he's walking into the team sheet every week, bench him, and then make him work for his place as already Sturidge has out performed him!

Re: Bolton Wanderers vs Tottingham Hotspur
We got 11 points from our fantastically bad run of the last twelve games. We'd have to have the run from hell not to get 7 point from 12. We have the squad, and some winnables starting next weekend against the Toffee men.TKIZ! wrote:Aye, what the rat said. 12 games left and we need 7 points.ratbert wrote:We have 33 points. I'd rather support Bolton than be you.

Re: Bolton Wanderers vs Tottingham Hotspur
Let's not get carried away. Elmander had a bad day and took a hefty whack across the shins early on. Not much went right for him and Sturrige scored but he didn't do the donkey stuff Elmo did. To say he's not bothered isn't the truth of it. It was Spurs away and we were very unlucky not to get a point. I've seen us play much worse and win......haven't you?Tals-biggest-fan wrote:Elmander needs to be benched against Everton... he's clearly not bothered about playing, he's walking into the team sheet every week, bench him, and then make him work for his place as already Sturidge has out performed him!

Was there today, thought we played quite well second half, were unlucky not to get a draw, Cahills cock-up cost us at the end but it was spurs away and we're still 8th. No reason we cant be Everton next Sunday.
P.S Sturridge looks to be a great signing.

They bossed the first half, we bossed the second.
Its really not possible to get round the idea that we are at the mercy of th'fishals, and lets be honest, we're Bolton and therefore don't rate any pity. I s'pose its always been that way, but it hurts more when you know you have a decent team that will be broken up and therefore the cycle will continue.
