I'd agree entirely ... apart from the Capslock bit, I'm not getting into an argument with Caps.

The current 8 match unbeaten is good, but it's 'only' 4 wins, 4 draws including two home draws we needed to win, and should have. Either way, that great run has us 15th. There's a reason for that .. because our start was phenomenally bad. Having told everyone how he was getting his summer business done early he was still signing people and looking for his best team in late October ... indeed, he still is looking for a couple more signings and it's virtually December. The current defensive pairing, which is doing so well, are two guys he was trying to get rid of in September (& I agreed with one of them, describing him as 'not even a footballer').

If his plan is coming together then I'm pleased ... and if it continues I'll hold my hands up to him. However, there's a way to go yet before he can claim it's all sorted. We remain 5 wins ... FIVE ... off the top two. He has reverted to a style of footy I can't thrill to, albeit rather better than losing.

So, well done and all that Dougie, long may it continue but don't get cocky sunshine.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Pride comes before a fall. I wish he'd just kept his mouth shut and crowed about it at the end of the season.

Bobo, Freedman wasn't 'cocky' in the interview and he even admitted failings in his summer recruitment

Actually said 'I got it wrong'

So after ten games he should have been out then? After all he ballsed up the summer transfers and couldn't buy a win, could he?

No, not at all

Cos he's a good manager and sacking him could well have ended up with us getting another dick like Coyle

I'm thinking that 'doing a Lever End' is misrepresenting what the manager has said

Nowhere in that piece does he claim to have proved anybody wrong nor does he say folk can't be unhappy

He does suggest that folk wanting him sacked after 8-10 games of the season are know nowt c*cks

I find it hard to disagree
Just making a joke about the heavy-handed tactic of not just resurrecting an old match thread just to say I told you so, but also starting a new thread to ram the point home!
And he might not say it but he suggests it, like you have said he suggests people are no nowt c*cks.
I'm still a long way from convinced by him but hope this run continues and we start playing some decent stuff at home, because 1 nervy win in 8 home games is still our record this season. He should sort that out then tell us how clever he is.

He was the manager before this little run..

I think people need to remember that.

Indeed, so it would be a bit silly to claim he's "a good manager" based on mixed results so far.

Anybody judging him (solely) on his results with us would indeed be a bit silly

As such, I leave that to the silly ones

If so, consult your doctor... :D

Did someone say first consecutive away clean sheets since 2008? That's a mind-boggler. Half a decade of leaks, we should be sponsored by Pampers or Edward Snowden.

Glad we won again. Glad we're in good form. Glad we're now as many points off the play-offs as we are off relegation. Glad we're catching Blackburn and especially Wigan. Glad we're looking to be ahead of target for DF's desire to be top-half at Christmas.

Slightly worried that we haven't played anyone in great form during this run but hey, I'll take the wins while we can. And on that note, I'm glad that all three fixtures in our next eight-day burst (Boro away Sat, Hudds home Wed, Donny home Sat) are winnable; it's lovely to triumph away, and it got us up under Allardyce, but you need to impress your home fans to stop the sniping. Would love to make it four straight away wins, but I'd swap it for two home wins against the Yorkshire mobs, thanks.

Sad that the top three appear to be breaking away – fourth-placed Blackpool are as far behind third-placed QPR as we are behind sixth-placed Leeds - but that just means there's more play-off places to be fought for, and I'd always fear for the team who finished so far clear of the pack without going straight up.

Hope we can come to agreement with Leicester over Danns and Cardiff over McNaughton. Shift a couple out, get a couple in. COYWM.

Some of you are going to be looking very stupid if we end up actually doing something this season.
The above post is complete bollox/garbage/nonsense, please point this out to me at any and every occasion possible.

Are we?

Cannot really argue with the way results are currently going but they won't last like this all season making the chances of 'doing something' fairly remote.

Still would have sacked him after 10, still not convinced nor as easy pleased as CAPS by him. He should have continued last seasons momentum if he had anything about him in my mind, then we would be on the verge of 'doing something'.

We should be up at the top of the table, when/if we get there, he can as smug as he wants. Until then, he's making a rod for his eon back.

I didn't intend it to be criticism or anything like that, nor did I mean to diminish our win. I just think it was fortuitous, so I said it was, and nothing anyone has said has made me think I'm wrong with that either. We all know that if we'd drawn the game 1-1 and it had been them who scored in the fashion that we did, there'd be plenty of people bemoaning our luck. That'd be a fair point too but lets have some consistency.

Of course though, some people on here aren't consistent. For whatever reason, Bruce Rioja has constantly picked up on things I've said for the last few months, yet look back at his view of Marvin Sordell's "lucky" goal against Sunderland in the FA Cup. Sordell did a lot more than Beckford did to get into the right position to score his goal but why would I expect a poster like him to be consistent? He's a dishonest hypocrite, nothing more. I know why he picked me up on what I said and I'm sure anyone who has seen the constant jibes aimed towards me knows why he picked me up on it too. Is it because he believes what he writes or is he a hypocrite with an agenda? His lack of consistency provides the answer to that.

Going back to my original point though, I wasn't intending to be critical or anything like that, so if that's how it came across, my apologies! I thought I was being positive but even that must come across as negative now...

If scoring a tap in from a yard out was the same as scoring a powerful 30 yard overhead kick, you may have had a point.

I've watched his post match interview and I've read the 'quotes' attributed to him in the Bolton News; I guess he must have given two post match interviews.

Thought he was quite humble in the taped interview, I'd be interested to see or hear the other one if it's on record. Not that I don't completely trust the written word of the media of course.

I still think he's a way off the pace in his media classes.
