Bolger has left the building and signed permanently for Southend according to offishial twitter!
The players you fail to sign never lose you any money.

Well, Bolger's gone to Southend.

I went to Southend a few weeks ago. Was alright. Watched a bit of the test match in a pub that smelled of stale beer and had faded St George's Cross flags hanging from it. There seemed to be a wedding party in the back. There wasn't a fight whilst I was there, but I wouldn't have been surprised if there was one later. It was that sort of place.
Anyway, that's one out. So two more out and three more in. Obviously. Because Freedman promised us that would happen. Absolutely promised it.

We should only ever sign people with good beards.
I'd like us to build a team full of imams and Victorian gentlemen.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

We're playing a waiting game for him.

Re: Abdoulaye's going t'Souk transfer thread
And? So what? Why the obsession with a player who doesn't play for us and we were never seriously interested in signing (he was out of our price range)? May as well obsess over Daniel Sturridge. At least he was good.thebish wrote:meanwhile...

We may get Andy Mason back, if no one wants to buy him and Cardiff are willing to let him leave on loan. We may get a Premier League cast-off on loan (someone akin to that Adobe-Acrobat chap who came from Arsenal a few years ago). We may even get a free transfer - someone who no one else wants because they're not good enough. But that's all we're getting. Deal with it.

Dougie on need for strikers and chances this season. Interestingly pretty much word for word what Nixon has been saying on twitter these past few weeks. Reading between the lines Dougie does not sound a happy chappy.

“If we’re going to make any impact on the top positions, I believe we need to add three attacking options,” “Whether that’s in the loan market or buying them, I’m not quite sure yet.
“One or two teams always spend their millions but at the moment, you’re getting teams like Huddersfield Town or Bournemouth – getting crowds not far off our own – spending big on players too.
“Unfortunately, we’re not able to do that right now. The money was spent in the Premier League.
“But if we work hard, get some attacking players in, then there’s no reason why we can’t punch above our weight.”

The punch above our weight bit is bollocks. This division is absolutely our weight.
