Re: The Trotters vs Mighty Russian Empire (Chelski away)
I never had a good feeling about last night's game, and that was chelsea's strongest team they could have put out in months, so all credit to the lads we deserved something out of it and unfortunately we didn't get the rub of the green. One thing that did annoy me though, was match of the day's review of the offside. I was sat there looking at their line they put along the screen to show drogba was on and it was a very odd shaped line.

Does the law still state "any part of the body" ?
Either way, to me, that looks offside.
Oh and that is not a straight line!

I believe it's "any part of the body you can score with," so hands don't count.Choppers wrote:Does the law still state "any part of the body" ?

does look offside to me also but if you look malouda was offside when the ball was played drogba surely he gained advantage over ricketts to score

Does that matter? For me he didn't get involved until Drogba passed the ball to him anyway (and he was onside for that, being behind Drogba).plymouth wanderer wrote:does look offside to me also but if you look malouda was offside when the ball was played drogba surely he gained advantage over ricketts to score

i have looked again ricketts is about a yard away from stopping that pass from getting to malouda and malouda is a offside when that ball is played to drogba if he was onside maybe ricketts would of got there surely he's involvedSonsOfThunder wrote:Does that matter? Sub clause 27 (small print) says: "Except in the case of Bolton Wanderers who will be treated as an alien nation and discriminated against at the referees discretion.TKIZ! wrote:My head hurts from the offside rule.

How typical, no CYL and so I can't find a full match video anywhere here. Had to make do with highlights. Anyone know where I can watch the full match? In English preferably?
Anyway, just from the highlights. looks like we should have gotten something out of this. Bring on Liverpool.

Re: The Trotters vs Mighty Russian Empire (Chelski away)
Just watched the whole game again and both Drogba and Malouda are offside when the ball is played through, Drogba not by much but Malouda is by a mile and its that advantage that made him free for the goal.
The ball also definitely hit Terry's arm and I've seen many of those also given , but not at Chelsea though.
Overall we played well and but for the offside goal and Jussi just touching Drogba's shot onto the post they didn't have another decent shot on goal. We had aenough chances to get a draw though, henece we can be proud of the teams performance.

Depression is just a state of mind, supporting Bolton is also a state of mind hence supporting Bolton must be depressing QED
