Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread
Was horrible when he made his debut with plenty hype for Jamaica recently. But then he was recovering from injury so may not be a fair assessment. Since then, he has scored a couple goals for his loan club Huddersfield.Debo wrote:So does the BENBWFC_Insane wrote:Leicester local paper reports we are in talks with Leicester over Beckford....

Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread
Nixon reckons we are after Beckford as well as a "star striker" who we are willing to spend top dollar on.LeverEnd wrote:Worth a risk though as he clearly has some talent. We're not going to get an all-round superstar, for example if ngog could finish he'd be playing in the Champions league not for us. If dougie's fitness regime works for the lad we could have a lot of goals for a pretty small fee. Plus he could complement Ngog/ Davies by shouldering most of the goalscoring burden. Could work like the Blake McGinlay partnership from the 97 promotion season.
Jordon Rhodes would be nice
If this is true then either Sordell or Ngog must be heading towards the exit.
Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread
Well Chris I certainly hope I'm proved wrong! That Nixon still won't let me read his tweets. It's destroying my already fragile self-esteem.

Indeed - even without KD that would mean Sordell, CDavies, Ngog, Eaves, Beckford and RoyRace.ChrisC wrote:Nixon reckons we are after Beckford as well as a "star striker" who we are willing to spend top dollar on.

I just hope we get decent return for the outgoing players (Fulham were talking about Ngog in January...?) but likesay I think it'll be an intriguing summer.
Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread
I think if we're in talks with Beckford one of the remaining strikers is likely to leave. My money would be on Sordell

Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread
I suppose the ultimate goal is promotion, but it seems a backward step to replace a fairly like-for-like but lose about 7 years (and potential resale) into the bargain.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread
I can't see us selling Sordell, but with Ngog having a year left on his deal and probably getting some offers to play in the prem I could see him going. I hope I'm wrong and he signs a new deal though, <3 Ngog <3.

Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread
Rumours are that the "star striker" is Vydra at Watford and the defender is Baptiste from Blackpool.
Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread
I think the Baptiste one is probably correct as he is out of contract. He may get better offers from elsewhere including the Premier League.ChrisC wrote:Rumours are that the "star striker" is Vydra at Watford and the defender is Baptiste from Blackpool.
Where did the Vydra rumour come from? Out of our league surely?

Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread
It can't be Vydra surely. He's one of the foreign emergency loan players that the Pozzos slipped through the loan loophole by importing them on mass from Udinese and some Spanish side isn't he. I thought they were all going back to their respective 'mother clubs' this summerChrisC wrote:Rumours are that the "star striker" is Vydra at Watford and the defender is Baptiste from Blackpool.

Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread
Vydra will want to go back to Spain or try and get a move to Watford. I can't see him coming to Bolton. Baptiste has looked very good every time I've seen him and would add a lot to the squad
Pfffft.

Great logic. He's not got a clue but because he does a good job at making stuff up he's our best link. We may as well ask my lucky under crackers for their opinion instead.ChrisC wrote: I know a few don't like Nixon but he is the best link we have to what is going on.
I just did. Apparently we making two new signings. John Skids. And Toby Stains.
