Re: Dougie
Everyone in sport makes mistakes, Strikers miss the target from 3 yards, Defenders commit fouls, Linesmen get offsides wrong, Referees award penalties from dives, book players for diving when another angle clearly shows contact.thebish wrote:yes - but to repeat... you did NOT say it is a squad game today - you said that picking the obvious is a sign of a lack of imagination... presumably in some lame attempt to make out that when dougie makes an odd selection it is actually a sign of imagination and genius rather than a mistake...BWFC_Insane wrote:Just to state the obvious we are not in 1981 anymore and the game has changed significantly.jaffka wrote:So when Ron Saunders won the league in 1981 and used 14 players during the course of a 42 game season, he should have chopped and changed moreBWFC_Insane wrote:A manager who constantly picks the obvious probably means they don't have much imagination.
truth is, sometimes it will be the right thing to do - sometimes it will be a mistake - as it was for coyle and megson and Lee and Allardyce...
you STILL haven't answered my simple question... has Dougie made any mistakes yet - and if so, what?
Managers will make mistakes, it is then about reacting to it and changing it, Dougie did that against Blackpool so I see that as a plus not a minus.
Also relevent is managers set their team up to play against how they expect the oppositition to play. If your opponent then does something different you adjust.
Re: Dougie
none of this is in question! I'm just asking BWFCi to be specific about what mistakes dougie has made to date... that's all! (BWFCi does not accept that dougie made any mistakes against blackpool)gizmothevoomer wrote:Everyone in sport makes mistakes, Strikers miss the target from 3 yards, Defenders commit fouls, Linesmen get offsides wrong, Referees award penalties from dives, book players for diving when another angle clearly shows contact.thebish wrote:yes - but to repeat... you did NOT say it is a squad game today - you said that picking the obvious is a sign of a lack of imagination... presumably in some lame attempt to make out that when dougie makes an odd selection it is actually a sign of imagination and genius rather than a mistake...BWFC_Insane wrote:Just to state the obvious we are not in 1981 anymore and the game has changed significantly.jaffka wrote:So when Ron Saunders won the league in 1981 and used 14 players during the course of a 42 game season, he should have chopped and changed moreBWFC_Insane wrote:A manager who constantly picks the obvious probably means they don't have much imagination.

feck me. Each thread gets more tedious. Why does everyone have to justify every throw away statement they make? It makes for very difficult reading at times.

I blame too much of that CSI nonsense showing on the tele.

I blame the Bish for constantly, tediously fishing. This has now gone on for 3 pages, without a single interesting post. Give it a fecking rest.

(oh - and write some interesting posts - that'd solve it!)
