Well it's not .... but it doesn't matter anyway as he's not being loaned out.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

But it is believed there are no plans for Ake to leave on loan at present.

Probably only half Greg Wylde's contract value. Maybe 1/3rd. Rather than 3.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.

Please don't even think about calling Toxteth a sh*thole, Dan.danhorwich wrote:Growing up in Toxteth does strange things to people.
Do not trust atoms. They make up everything.

Toxteth is a good place ...... it's the people who make it a cess-pit.

You ever been to Toxteth Dan? When it was really bad there (and yes, I've been) Kirby, Norris Green, even parts of Bootle, were all bad areas around then. Just wondering what you know about growing up there? It's a genuine question.danhorwich wrote:Growing up in Toxteth does strange things to people.

I have been to Toxteth Tango and it has had a lot of money put into it, however when this lad was growing up it was regarded as one of the worst areas in Britain where 100s of youths took to the street looking to cause serious harm to police officers and it is an area that has produced probably more criminals than any other(I can think of 2 others). I have also been to Kirby, Norris Green and Croxteth and can confirm that they are sh*t. Could go also talk about some of the areas of Bottle and Birkendead. I will always remember this estate known to the locals as "the boot estate" in Norris Green which was really sh** probably on a par with Wythenshawe and Moss Side in Manc

Again, I doubt you've even been to Wythenshawe.

Re: Abdoulaye's going t'Souk transfer thread
I was seeing a girl from Toxteth in the mid '80's. The area was still recovering from the riots and one of the worst recessions since the '30's but I'm sorry to have to report that I found it to be a fantastically vibrant place full of funny, lively, happy people who, once you knew them, would give you the shirt off their back.
You'd have to count your fingers after you shook hands with them, but lovely people.
Anyone who has spent more than 5 minutes passing through an area would know that the British people, on the whole, are tolerant, hard-working, law abiding people. As, in fact, are most of the immigrants in our towns and cities.
What builds up the perception of a 'shithole' are people who don't bother to scratch the surface, preferring to make sweeping generalisations about whole communities having spent very little there and believing what the 'popular' press report as factual facty fact.
Then there are some places that appear fantastic to the casual observer but are, in fact, cesspits of bigotry, racism and general 'chavviness'. Horwich is one of them.
