Did Evatt not say anything about Dempsey? Would be nice to have him back for Saturday.GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Thu Feb 23, 2023 1:59 amRight then. Do we know what's going on with the missing ones as we stand?
Who is available for Evatt to whip Vale with?
Very short turnaround for Vale now, and whilst playing most of last night against 10 men was helpful, I'd still guess we might need/want to rotate some of our lads.

When’s nlundulu back? He’s barely been available since signing

Sounds daft, but maybe we just signed him to stop somebody else doing it?officer_dibble wrote: ↑Thu Feb 23, 2023 9:29 pmWhen’s nlundulu back? He’s barely been available since signing

None of the attackers we signed have had much of an impact yet.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Thu Feb 23, 2023 9:29 pmWhen’s nlundulu back? He’s barely been available since signing
Obviously Shoretire has been a success story, as has Mbete. Williams got his goal and an assist, but still needs to get up to speed. I think there's a proper player for us there.
The fact we've done as well as we have without any of the strikers scoring should probably be seen as a good rather than bad thing. If they can find there feet you have to believe there's another level to this team.

Yeah I can’t imagine all 3 will be duffers! Cameron Jerome will come good - he’s a presence and will create and chip in. Not sure on the other two yet! Hopefully Victor gets his goal and settles, we’ll see on Nlundulu - he’s only on loan and if he can’t get fit he won’t be pursued permanently I guess.

As with Nlundulu, Jerome has been restricted by injury. I'm not assigning blame to anyone, we're still working to get everyone fully fit (by the standards of this club, not their former employers).BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Thu Feb 23, 2023 10:45 pmJerome has barely played. Victor needs a goal.
It's process-driven on one side and confidence on the other. If Vik keeps finding the right positions the ball will find him. Then it's a case of bury one and off to the races.
There's a good argument for Jerome and Adeboyejo starting at the weekend, but then you're playing two strikers who aren't necessarily 100% with the patterns of play.
I'd love to have Nlundulu and Williams both available for some kind of role in the Morecambe game. They were signed to break teams like that down.

Sheehan was mint second half. Constantly making forward runs and creating space. They couldn’t pick him up, as hard as they tried.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sun Feb 19, 2023 5:28 pmSheehan is soft as shite and will offer nowt at Accrington bar being a passenger.GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Sun Feb 19, 2023 5:23 pmGod, no. Why would you put a kid in a position he's never played in a semi-final when you have experienced options who can play?BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sun Feb 19, 2023 10:38 amPlay Bradley in midfield for Dempsey and Williams rwb (can he play?) Bradley offers the running and tenacity of Dempsey and even more ball carrying. It’s worth a try and think it might suit Bradley. Short of that I don’t see an option for Weds assuming Thomason is deemed not ready still.
We can play Lee or Sheehan as 8s, Kachunga at 10, etc. We have options without taking one of our best players out of where he's been so good this season and sticking him into a role he doesn't know.
We could put Lee there but it means Kachunga will start and Jerome and Charles. How do you change it if needed up front? Or for ET?
Don’t think he’s great and I do think he’s down the pecking order, but credit where it’s due.

They didn't try or need to pick him up. Fcuking useless. Just let him run the fcuk around aimlessly. Mind, if he's the spare wank in an 11 v 10, he might not subtract from the overall too significantly. But it's pretty close.boltonboris wrote: ↑Fri Feb 24, 2023 11:15 pmSheehan was mint second half. Sheehan played very well. There was no aimless running. He made space for other players very effectively. Evatt will have been very happy with him.

He made runs but I personally was not impressed at all. He looked lost. Like a boy in a man’s game. I thought it showed how far off the level he is. I think he’s neither a number ten or number eight and that’s his issue. Against ten men and with space opening up and tired legs he failed to have an impact on the game. Morley….had absolutely tons of impact striding forward with the ball. Sheehan I cannot remember a single point where I felt ‘yep he’s controlling that midfield’.boltonboris wrote: ↑Fri Feb 24, 2023 11:15 pmSheehan was mint second half. And if we want to talk about movement and runs he’s way way off what Lee offered I mean way off.

I mean it's not like you have more space when it's 11 v 10 and one of your other starting mf is sat in an ambulance..I just think he's not really got any physical presence. I don't trust him to win a 1v1.

This. Plus he’s neither good enough on the ball in tight areas to warrant a complete lack of ‘oomph’.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Sat Feb 25, 2023 10:07 amYeah, I'm sure he will be.GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Sat Feb 25, 2023 5:45 amSheehan played very well. Comparing him to Lee it was clear he’s not close to that level of movement and space finding. Nor does he have the game management Morley offers.
The biggest thing is I’m not sure what he is. A tiki taka number ten? An all rounder 8? Or as per Newport a deep lying play maker. I think he’s a bit of all of them but not really good enough for any of those specific roles.
Re: Dem Bones, Dem Bones, Dem Bare Bones....
Yeah I’m firmly on the side of Insano and Worthy here. I thought Sheehan completely failed to impose himself in a situation that should have been ideal to show what he can do. Slim to no chance he’s at the club next season.

Still think he’s off in summer though - and it would be a big call not to replace him with Dempsey today.I thought it was a great performance from him. Just his intelligence of what space to take and what pockets to pick up, and when to dribble and pass. Ithink that was a great reminder from him to everybody to show what he can do.
Speaking of today, young Dan Barnes appears to say Nlundulu might be back.
