You're at liberty to ignore what you wish, Ghost. I think your expectation that "factual" claims will be consistent across a significant group is optimistic and probably less so across a significant group on Twitter. I wasn't questioning whether you were disbelieving Insane. I suspect people saying he hid in his shed in the second half may mean maybe more than usual, rather than an analytic thesis with 19 camera angles showing he did in fact park there all second half. Folks do that quite a lot...
If you like.

He either sat there and did nothing or he was about and raging a players.

I don't think it's optimistic for criticism of the manager and players to be based in reality.

Not everyone on SM are going to be 100% literal, for our convenience.

No, but when people are criticising it as being literally true then it matters that it's not. That's what the online criticism has been.

There's not been "life" in the Bovril since they sacked Sweaty Dave.

I dunno what the expectation is here, there's plenty of blame being handed out by association. You're in the "Evatt Out" camp yet them over their said X so you must think X also, because you're part of "them."
No.

The expectation is that factual claims should be consistent. So if there are hundreds of people attacking Evatt for doing nothing the entire second half and that isn't correct that's informative. If it's a case that Iles said it and other people now say they've seen it too then that's even more informative of what a lot of the criticism is like.

It wasn't my criticism of Insane and I'm not saying he's wrong when he says Evatt was going mental at the players.

However, if Insane is right then I'm going to ignore the criticism of Evatt sitting around doing nothing.

I was totally focused on the football on the pitch and didn't really look at the bench, other than when we made subs.
I don’t really see why you care what people on social media or indeed on here, including me say. It’s not worth being invested in, you can disagree with it all, but you won’t change anyone’s mind and they won’t change yours. Twitter especially is now a cesspool that increasingly on any topic is not worth bothering with.

But you said you weren’t invested in Evatt - so why do you care that on social media he’s taking a pounding? It’s what happens there now and the criticism will have a load of seemingly conflicting contradictions but that’s because it’s a bunch of individuals with a shared opinion but a whole load of views around that opinion that will diverge.

Evatt did sit on the bench for most of the second half, but it’s not like him standing up had much of an impact so I’d not particularly be annoyed by that. People see it as a sign he gave up or sulked but I have no idea if either are true and I don’t think there was much he could change standing up all half.

Depends what you mean by "care" about it.

I'm interested in it, because how and why people criticise managers and players is usually informative. Equally, if people are criticising something I've not noticed, and they turn out to be right, then that should probably inform my opinion to some extent - or at least give me something to think about.

If you have the image of me raging into my keyboard then don't sweat it. I'm sat here watching a Germany second division game for work and eating birthday cake.

Respect this interview from santos. Genuine honesty. We need a lot more of this. But it’s not easy to come out and admit your failings so massive props to Rico for doing so.
