last season we all thought he would score a bag full in this league. Expectation is lower now so maybe he will surprise us!

Personally I think Beckford will score 15+. Against Betis you could see he is a fox in the box and it was nice to see someone getting in the right positions.

Can't wait 'til tomorrow, Will Moritz start do we think? N'gog could prosper from his through balls, I hope Beckford is the goalscorer we have been waiting for but we still need goals from all round the team to have a good chance this season.

Between them and Moritz they can get a shedload of free kick, so Eagles to be a top scorer with a rejuvenated Chungy to figure too. We'll need Craig Davies for the rainy season so he'll stick one or two in. We'll be reet.

Bolton boss Dougie Freedman has fired the first shot of a new Football League season – calling rival Championship manager Paul Ince ‘disrespectful’.

The former United and England favourite claimed: “Bolton are paying big, big wages. I’d be interested if the deal was right but these clubs pay massive wages. It depends whether my chairman and Phil Gartside can have a conversation.”

Freedman blasted back: “There are managers who I believe are living in cuckoo land with what they try to achieve. They certainly talk a good game.

How else are we going to get their wages (or part of them) off our books? Need to shift more before we can try and bring Spearing in.

Look at the 'first team lads' who have been playing in the reserve friendlies. They will be the ones we are looking to shift.

Mears,Mills, Andrews, Ream and Craig Davies.

Davies and Andrews maybe less so now given Sordell has just gone out and Andrews is our only midfield cover with Vela out injured at the minute.

I think Blackpool made an approach for them on loan. Dougies eyes lit up thinking he could shift em and bring in Spearing and a better CB with the money saved.

However doesn't appear Blackpool can cover enough of their wages so Dougie is a bit fecked off that they keep talking about it.

Craig Davies is only being talked about going because Wolves and Blackburn bid actual money for him. And again selling him for something would let us possibly get Spearing. But again neither have actually backed up the rumoured enquiry with a proper bid.

As Dougie said again today it's one in one out at the moment so we will have to get rid of a couple of these at some point. Like it or not. Squad as it stands isn't good enough to gain promotion. Wheeling and dealing is our only option.

I fully agree. Bet Dougie does too from what he's said. But as with needing to get Charlton to pay some of Sordell's wages before we took on Moritz, harsh reality is that unless Eddie fancies doing us a favour, pot seems to be empty. And as Dougie said we have a lot of very highly paid players who might not play much, but as they are highly paid its hard to get someone to take them.
