Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread
So if they aren't any use to us and no one will touch em elsewhere why is football still the only place where you can hang around like a bad smell and keep picking up your wage... Even when the entire market knows you're not worth it...?BWFC_Insane wrote:I fully agree. Bet Dougie does too from what he's said. But as with needing to get Charlton to pay some of Sordell's wages before we took on Moritz, harsh reality is that unless Eddie fancies doing us a favour, pot seems to be empty. And as Dougie said we have a lot of very highly paid players who might not play much, but as they are highly paid its hard to get someone to take them.Lord Kangana wrote:I think that sounds more like one out, one in. I just worry as time goes by that if we succeed getting those two out, well then what happens if one or both of our replacement targets decline the move? If we're already not good enough, I suppose it doesn't matter, but I can't see it improving things. Mills I'm not arsed about, but centre mid is looking light.
Any other line of work , step into my office... Get fooked off and don't let that door hit you in the arse on yer way out...
Are we in League 2 yet - Three seasons and we'll be away to Chesham
Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread
Not to pick on Arsenal again but I have heard that Bendtner and Chamach are still stealing a living
The above post is complete bollox/garbage/nonsense, please point this out to me at any and every occasion possible.
Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread
I'd suggest that Charlton would be paying at least half his wages and don't forget that the US football federation are picking up Holden's wages.
Pfffft.

If only......to be ever so slightly fair it is a short career and whilst clubs are all stupid for paying them as much as they do, I guess clubs can only respond to the market.norm the jedi wrote:So if they aren't any use to us and no one will touch em elsewhere why is football still the only place where you can hang around like a bad smell and keep picking up your wage... Other thing is that being able to rip up contracts would probably hurt the players at the lower end of the game than it would nearer the top.

You CAN rip up their contract. Just that it will cost you.
You CAN sack them if they do something judged to be gross misconduct, but that's rare.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Didn't Dougie say he hasn't spoken to Ince in three months?BWFC_Insane wrote: I think Blackpool made an approach for them on loan. Dougies eyes lit up thinking he could shift em and bring in Spearing and a better CB with the money saved.

Said similar at the fans forum, but again in the BN today.
Get the feeling Dougie is a little concerned by what others are doing.

Freedman is having to balance his books at present as the whole division gets to grips with the potential pitfalls of Financial Fair Play.
But the manager has warned the money being spent by promotion rivals such as QPR could potentially give them a head start in this season’s Championship.
“The Wigans, QPRs and Nottingham Forests are strengthening, so we have to be careful we don’t get too far behind them in our points or the transfer market,” he added.
Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread
how come we're slowed by FFP - but QPR are not??

Arry has a taxman who cant do lots with figures and he has an accountant friend who can do the same...

FFP is about spending relative to income. So QPR have the larger parachute payment. And they've been able to shift Samba for £12M giving them income they can spend.thebish wrote:how come we're slowed by FFP - but QPR are not??
Similar with Wigan. Spent the Kone fee. Plus a larger parachute payment.

Hang on - aren't the initial parachute payments spread over 3 yeras?
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Yep, always are.Lord Kangana wrote:Hang on - aren't the initial parachute payments spread over 3 yeras?
So we got 16M last year, 16M this year and 8M next year.
Whereas QPR, Reading and Wigan get 23M this year and next....plus whatever it goes down to after that.
So 7M extra quid a year in their budgets.

Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread
you are forgetting we now have a good squad for this division with experience of this division and the other 2 just dropped down and as far as qpr go are likely in massive debt if they arent straight back up (massive pressure on players who 80% of wont have a clue about the championship and wigan who i am in no doubt will settle mid table and do no more)
