He's quick, he works hard and gets about players.. that three things Marine doesn't have.BWFC_Insane wrote:Emnes is more a winger surely? Really do not think he is the answer. He's quick, not a target man and doesn't have a great goalscoring record. He's another not quite a striker. I really can't see it being him given everything Lennon said about needing physicality and goals. Emnes offers neither.
I'm not sure what you're expecting, but this is where we shop now.. I'm sure if Freedman would've signed him you'd be saying the same as what I just have

If we needed a flying winger Emnes would be great. We need a striker to play up front and lead the line. Lennon said he wanted someone more physical. Emnes isn't any of those things.boltonboris wrote:He's quick, he works hard and gets about players.. that three things Marine doesn't have.BWFC_Insane wrote:Emnes is more a winger surely? Emnes is f*cking gash, but he's almost certainly better than what we have. That's depressing!
He's played out wide for Swansea but up top at both Borough and (I think) for Holland U-21s when he was tipped as being ace.
PS. I'm here! Though I did never want yesterday to end!

I can't comment on Emnes, as I had never heard of him until yesterday... (not being a massive premiership fan'boy!! )BWFC_Insane wrote:If we needed a flying winger Emnes would be great. but then earlier in the day you did say we should sign a striker who "gets knocked over by a puff of wind"...

Re: If carlsberg did transfer threads.....This would be it!
I just cannot imagine Emnes leading the line. Which means we still have to play Madine and still have absolutely zero cover should Madine be injured. Emnes as far as I can tell is just an unsubstantiated rumour and to me makes absolutely no sense based on Lennon saying he wanted more physicality and goal threat.
Emnes adds pace, but does not add physicality or goal threat. He doesn't solve the major problems we have. We are not at liberty to have a free choice of who to sign but Emnes is just not the answer to our problems. He is and would be a decent signing in terms of adding to the front line in general. And were we to sign him and a target man then fine. But if he was to be our one and only addition then for me it would more than likely be a waste.

Don't know much about him but from what I've read I tend to agree.
We have pace with feeney and silva, but it's completely wasted, moxey's superb pass aside. Our attacking play is so pedestrian and uninspired that by the time we get the ball to them thru have 2 players to beat. We need a central threat can run at defenders or hold the ball up.

Proper Ronaldo is only 39. He'd certainly add "physical presence" !

Is that a typo for Odelusi, or are you suggesting he thinks he's better than he is?Bijou Bob wrote:In other News, I delusion has been told he can leave wigan after 2 months and no starts. Odd one, wonder what the story is there??

Is Will Smith going to play the role of a young man from Coventry who thinks he's good enough to make it to the top before washing up as a failure in the North-West? Coming soon, "I, Delusion".

I'm sitting in the lotus position with fingers crossed and eyes shut quietly chanting "James Wilson" repeatedly.
