A neutral fan expressed an opinion of one of our players that reflected my own.

I hope this goes some way to alleviating any fears you may have of Utd fans taking over your mind.
The neutral fan clearly can read a game of football better than a lot on here.

Muamba played well in difficult circumstances, pass completion of 68% which is not too bad and he worked hard to press City. Against lesser sides, I think he will make well for Pratley or Mark Davies!
Agree, especially at home, but today was not the day to start Mark Davies. He was right to bring him on as a sub.

Had we been playing Wigan or Blackburn the negative comments might have more emphasis. We did pretty well in general against superior opposition and no heads went down. Didn't feel half as gutted at the final whistle as I have many times before. Get through the tough patch and I'm pretty confident we'll have a decent season.

Comment from my Liverpool supporting mate: " Bolton are playing a lot better football and are a good side. I can see em challenging for UEFA this season".

Fed up of our lot staring at "the Poznan" in awe, and trying to start it when we scored too!

The Poznan itself is funny. What folk might stare in awe at is the fact that 5,000 people can cobble together to do the exact same thing at the same time, when our own terraces are fragmented, argumentative and reserved

I enjoyed that. We played well, if not well enough, and gave a good account of ourselves only to suffer for a couple of mistakes. Moot as to whether City would have found another gear if necessary, they spent at least 15 minutes in each half looking decidedly worried. Point is there's quite a few who feared or expected that the first two months would be an extended hoop-kicking but we seem to have a fair bit about us. The owd buggers up front seem to be doing ok and younger help is on the way.

If you had told me before the match started we'd lose 2-3. I'd be happy we didn't get a tonking. But after seeing how well we did play - especially after that second goal - it's a damn shame we couldn't have held one of those goals back. It's not a bad taste, just a frustrating, and against a side where the likes of Tevez come on as a sub, it's even more frustrating that we came so close. I'm happy with the way we played.

Moo has been playing much better - I think - than he has in the past. He's coming into it, and I can't wait to see a fit midfield, and Tuncay in the mix. Think we'll see some decent happenings this season.

Nice to see the "owd buggers" getting a goal each against the mighty Citeh. Hope that younger help does as well.

And as an addendum, did anyone notice how strong NRC is?

He smashed Richards off the ball a couple of times today like he wasn't there. And he is a big unit.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

I noticed he was used to playing with footballers. Passing the ball into space, anticipating runs that never came. He'll learn, especially alongside Fab

I'm liking NRC a lot. Neat and tidy in possession recycling and a real leader. Noticed him nominating Petrov for one free-kick which Eagles was eyeing, and he was also in there when things got tasty. Future captain indeed.

Impressed with that. Disheartened that I felt we gave all we could, played as well as we could and it still wasn't enough at home against a team in our league. But I supposed that's it, it's not really our league...we operate in another league now. Every man played as well as they could...biggest disappointment obviously Jussi the fecking clown. Klasnic is such indifferent player this season, hoping we get to see him link with Tuncay, genuinely excited by that one. Mark Davies looked good as well.

One further point...can when put the corner debate to rest. They letft 3 men up, us none, and who scored from a corner?

That Aguero chance, we had the impetus, had Petrov to release down the left. We pass back to Fab, who instead of moving the attack on passes backwards and 10 seconds later we're relieved at getting a goal kick

See that first goal properly since too, oof, bad, bad error

from what i saw today and so far this season were looking pretty damned good

centre back pairing working very well !! hopefully gary signs up for more
robbo's no nonsense fullback work is allowing us to keep our formation and defend well therafter
steinsonn has been good

muamba has been lets be honest brilliant alongside reo-coker
reo-coker has added that pace and coolheadedness to our midfield we sorely lacked last year
eagles has been teriffic settled allready and with much more ability than i thought he had
petrov looks bloody reborn and him bombing down the left flank scars the sh*&t out of fullbacks no end not to mention his crosses have been great too!
kev looks like he bought some boots with springs in em this year
klasnic finishing with both feet and playing from the start

pratley looks like he will take more time to settle #

and with the potential additions of tuncay swp and possibly ngog were looking bloody good this year !!

And Muamba? I thought he was class. So did my Utd supporting mate who normally slates us just to see my expression.

Yes he did but it'll not stop the Zat haters. . Both CB's worked there arses off as we were overun at fulback position time and time again.

In fact I thought the whole team worked really hard against a team that has Tevez on the bench. Considering we are a couple of new faces short we are looking good. The spirit is there. MOM to Petrov who, though tiring towards the end, had one his best games for me - seems a different player with a smile on his face.

Jussi has always been poor at crosses and distribution but I have always been swayed by the "but he's a great shot stopper argument". Only he's not stopping them now.
I agree regarding most of this. for Knight, can't take away the fact that the bollock he dropped was the bollock he dropped, did work hard though and stopped plenty against the odds. Thought all of the team put their all in today, but there's always going to be a gulf in class against a team that cost £600m to put together. That's sort of why they cost £600m.

Hate the fact that we have loads of the Citeh massif at work who'll repeatedly tell me tomorrow how lucky we were. Plus the fact the Aguero cost more than your stadium, can't believe I'm going to say this but I really hope ManUre win the league

I can only assume you've been drinking heavily.

I'll let you off, just this once.
