Robinson did look awful today aswell. Not sure what KD brings to the table anymore although NGog didnt do a great deal more when he replaced him.

NGog did a hell of a lot more in the 20 odd mins he was on than davies did for the 60 odd mins he was on. same for M Davies and Pratley.
N'gog touched the ball for a start.

Davo pissed me off too. Everyone talks aboput him being Mr Bolton Wanderers and wearing his heart on his sleeve. He obviously thought his England cap gave him immunity from places like the Moss Rose. Big time bastard was absolutely schooled by their defenders. One of their fans after the game asked me what he brings to the team.. I don't know.. He doesn't win headers any more. The fella even said he wouldn;t have Davies in their team, and on Saturday's evidence, he's feckin' bob on! They're in League 2!

I, for one, can forgive a lack of ability (to a certain degree, that is). But I can't forgive players who have a pathetic attitude and are unwilling to work.

Apart from some of our players refusing to turn up, had a cracking day. First half, the atmosphere was strangely subdued, but the second half was much better. Strange seeing gangs on 50odd Year Old blokes, so pissed they couldn't stand up, but plenty of fun regardless..

Seemed to be a bit of trouble in 'spoons and The Millstone after the game, which was a shame.

If we fecked him off now, I wouldn't be too arsed.

Apparently, he's the only person who can put the ball in the net. My dead grandmother looks more of a goal threat at the minute.. I bet she's got a better touch too

Aye thats where I've been with him for a while...

Klasnic is similar in that he thinks his goalscoring means he can do bugger all else...

Klasnic should shut his gob, he wouldn't even see the pitch on any other Prem side.

Fair enough but I want to sell him and replace him with a quality defender, not Wheater and Knight, a take-a-chance replacement or Junior Hoilett (arguably a worse choice when we've scored more goals than nine teams and conceded fewer than nobody). My point was that some have labelled Cahill as an over-rated, big-headed, wantaway liability. I fear we will soon find out how wrong they are.

I think the above is harsh on Davies and Klasnic. For one, Klasnic scored, and while that doesn't mean he can do what he likes for the rest of the game, but it does make him more of a goal-threat than someones dead grandmother. It also makes him more of a goal-threat than either Davies or N'Gog, I don't think it's a co-incidence that our best chances fell to him, even if he missed them. He's also a very good footballer when it's played into his feet.

I wouldn't start him, because 4-5-1 might stop us shipping goals and to play it we need N'Gog's workrate, but he's clearly worth his place in the squad.

As for Davies, I think he genuinely did try on Saturday. That's what makes it sadder.

Davies headed over from 6 yards - he got under tha ball, cos he only jumoped about 3 inches

He also killed one ball brilliantly with his chest, the dawdled and fcuked up the chance he had created

Other than that, I don't remember anything from him

He's shit

And Klasnic should not have missed that chance at the death

He's not shit

Point taken. And to be honest I was half trolling with that comment anyway. Boring Mondays.

We need quality at the back, and Cahill won't be providing that for us much longer (if ever again). It's better to get him gone now, but only if we can secure a good enough replacement.

I don't think that's been a very loud voice or well-supported opinion on this forum has it? if so - I've missed it!

There's been an undercurrent, less that he is a liability but certainly that his 'heart isn't in it', whatever the fcuk that means, and also that we won't really miss him, coz if he was that good, we wouldn't be conceding goals at all. I'm with DSB in that a lot undervalue what he brings, we'll miss him when he is gone, and that too many mistake not twatting it to their keeper every time he gets it for some sort of moral flaw, the English Disease.

oh - ok - i've missed it then! We will miss him badly - but not sure what else we could have done about it - we were never gonna keep him beyond this season... best to use the money we can get now to try to finance a mobile replacement... none of us have any idea if Ream might be that man - but "wheater" and "mobile" are not natural bed-fellow words...

I hadn't noticed it either bish. What I have noticed is people wishing they'd just get the f*ck on with it.

I could trawl for the quotes but it would take more effort than it's worth, and might seem argumentative to one or two posters whose views I frequently value. There have been maybe a dozen or so comments, usually post-match, which have strayed from economic urgency towards "I'll drive him there myself" - probably a few after the Spurs game, but sporadic mentions after many games. As Prufrock notes, many on our shores distrust the ball-playing centre-back, but we'll miss his out-ball creativity - imagine a worried central midfielder tapping back for Wheater or Knight to 'recycle' - almost as much as we'll miss his ability to follow his hapless centre-back partner's career with a bucket and shovel.

no argument from this quarter...

I do have a lurking fear for him, though... It's probably not a rational one - probably based on memory of the last shit-hot awesome CB to leave us for Sampions League glory...

I have a fear that some of the errors that go un-noticed at Bolton do not go un-noticed under the top-four microscope..

I hope I'm wrong - and I guess his england performances don't bear out my fears - (unless he signs for manU - in which case, I hope I'm right and he flops badly.. )

Fabrice will be fooked! He loves running towards Gary, getting it and first time, without looking at any point if he can turn, passing it straight back! Do that with Zat and the poor lad will be getting neck ache!
