he'll be well rested, then - and still ours! then he'll sign a new reduced contract - cos who wants a player who broke their leg twice? it's all good! ![Wink ](./images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)

Is that a straw you have just clutched? I like your thinking though.thebish wrote:he'll be well rested, then - and still ours! then he'll sign a new reduced contract - cos who wants a player who broke their leg twice? it's all good!
Do not trust atoms. They make up everything.
Re: Bijou Bob's Bargain Basement Buys - Jan transfer thread
I think that every time Bolton ever mention chungy's name it should be followed in brackets by: "the player who has broken all his legs" - that should put off potential suitors...

He should have a chat with Dave Whelan. I believe the nice person also broke his leg in a game of football.

I'm not sure THAT would be a good idea!

may also take him another 18 months to regain any form again... nah tbh i think this scenario looks quite likely.thebish wrote:he'll be well rested, then - and still ours! then he'll sign a new reduced contract - cos who wants a player who broke their leg twice? it's all good!
just seems fairly clear that Lennon was banking on the money for him... this is becoming a common theme at our club. new manager, all is rosey until the first transfer window opens then frustration and bitterness creep in...

you'd think by now - incoming managers would have realised what BWFC is about!General Mannerheim wrote:may also take him another 18 months to regain any form again... nah tbh i think this scenario looks quite likely.thebish wrote:he'll be well rested, then - and still ours! then he'll sign a new reduced contract - cos who wants a player who broke their leg twice? it's all good!

Bolton news has rumours of Wilkinson and Lester going on loan to Blackpool?

That sounds like a good plan. Wilkinson turns 20 this month, Lester turned 20 in October, so although they're far from washed up they are approaching the time when they need to prove they have a future. If they can cut it at Championship level, they've a good chance of being in our shake-up next season.TANGODANCER wrote:Bolton news has rumours of Wilkinson and Lester going on loan to Blackpool?

Yes, which is why a loan in this division means more than pissing about at Bury or Shrewsbury. That's not to say lower-league loans aren't a good thing at a certain point in a player's development - for youngsters, or even when older it's arguably better to be a third-tier regular than a second-tier benchwarmer - but if Wilko and Lester show well at Bloomfield then we can have much more confidence they're up to the standard. (Or, alternatively, so can potential buyers if the manager doesn't like their style anyway.)Lost Leopard Spot wrote:Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:That sounds like a good plan. This is all a little bit worrying. Lennon has indicated a few times that it's been frustrating to try to get players in could it be a combo of budget/players we're after uninterested?
Pfffft.

Things on the transfer front gone a bit tits up!
Chungy injured and was looking at going to west brom, that is probably off now.
A few clubs interested in Spearing.
Medo gone out on loan.
Hope that enough wage space has been created to bring someone in.

I'm wondering what sort of backing Neil Lennon was promised on joining Bolton? He's had the worst sort of team injury luck with Mavies, young Clayton, Zach Clough, Craig Davies, Joe Mason and now Chungy in his short campaign so far. B.N mentions his frustrations in not being able to get anybody in so far. Got to feel quite a bit of sympathy with the man. Hope something turns around for him soon.
