That was weird.

Are you sure about that DSB? I mean technically? Isn't he still a Baggie even though it was on a free, and even though they've mutually agreed to split, don't WBA still have to sign forms and shit to get rid (even as a formality)? I'm asking by the way, not contradicting you...Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Iles on Twitter: "All sorts happening at #bwfc - done deal (as described by both clubs concerned this morning) now not a done deal."
Note that that wouldn't be Samaras, who has no other club with whom to deal.
I think a few post(er)s may be confusing each other's comments as being about Anichebe and Samaras.
It's possible (for instance) we agreed to borrow Anichebe but have now backed out to get Samaras.

Already done in the summer apparently.

Nixon reckons it's not Emnes.

If a player was a free agent before the window closed, he's nothing to do with his last club any more. Legally free.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:Are you sure about that DSB? I mean technically? If he was still registered with his last club when the window closed, he can't sign (except on loan) for anyone until January. So he'd be rather daft to agree to leave his last club.
Samaras left WBA by mutual consent (contract cancelled) in July. Anichebe is still contracted to WBA but may be available for loan (up to 93 days).

"Not a done deal" hopefully doesn't mean it's off completely. Mind you, depending on who it is.....
Some rumours that Wolves are in for Frazier Campbell. How many strikers di they need? That's just plain greedy.

Anichebe turned us down.

Bijou Bob wrote: I know someone who has worked at a couple of his clubs. The lad has talent and he's a good athlete, but believe it or not, he has no interest in football. He turns up, collects his wages, works just hard enough and goes home. Football is just a way of making money, which is allegedly why he has been poor at all of his clubs. He has enough stashed after his contract at Everton not to have to push himsel, so he doesn't and trying to motivate him has been all but impossible.
Bijou Bob.... ITFK!!@MarcIles: Both clubs had finger on button for Emnes deal - more details in paper tomorrow - & Anichebe seems happy with what he's on at WBA. Fair dos.

Me too. Not bothered if we get him and he scores but I'm not sure he is the right person to get us into the top half.boltonboris wrote:Reminds me of Ngog....
Perhaps he is the best we can get these days.
Do not trust atoms. They make up everything.
Re: If carlsberg did transfer threads.....This would be it!
Anichebe would have been a good signing, despite his apparent lack of interest in football.
Zamora publicly claimed he dislikes football a few years ago, said there are many in football who just see it as a job. And he's always been pretty decent and played with commitment.
Though I must admit that it's a bit weird for a footballer - especially a striker - to actually dislike the sport. It's not really something you want to hear as a fan, either.

"Born in Bolton, Lancashire, the son of a coal-bagger for the Co-op, Lofthouse went to work in Walkers' tannery, began playing in the makeshift Bolton team at the age of 15 – already weighing over 12 stone – and was subsequently called up as a Bevin Boy, working in the mines for four years. After that, professional football seemed like an extended holiday."Jugs wrote: Though I must admit that it's a bit weird for a footballer - especially a striker - to actually dislike the sport. Maybe that, ( about Nat Lofthouse) ,is the real difference these days.?

Trying and failing for Emnes is like deciding to lower one's standards in Bolton Ritzy at ten-to-two, and then getting blown out anyway.
Even though you know it's probably for the best the next day, it's depressing.
I know.

Bllx to a striker anyway. Eva Caniero's left Chelsea. Get her on the books.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
"I understand you are a very good footballer" ... "I try".
