Why would they? It would be spending unnecessary money.LeverEnd wrote:Id have agreed with you a couple of weeks ago but if things come to a head on August I think they will sack him unless there's a very unlikely upturn in results. You can't bumble for 43 games!BWFC_Insane wrote:I don't know where this idea comes from. He has the look of a man who would love to get the boot and the compo but is resigned to slogging it out for the season and taking the inevitable battering.LeverEnd wrote:I agree, he doesn't look good. He's always had that pasty look but he looks a wreck which is not good to see, however much I dislike his management.twilight wrote:We have lost out to other clubs before on players, yes even loan ones. Ibe could have been good for us but meh, we move on.
I'm more worried how Freedman looks right now. (In the Brighton review interview). Looks like the pressure is definitely on him.
I really think he'll not be around much longer, he even resorted to blaming the ref after the Boro defeat. This is something he doesn't do on the whole and is one aspect of his management style I approve of.
I don't think the club will sack him unless we get seriously look like going down in Januaryish time (and by that I mean bottom three out of touch not just a chance of it happening).
The club are just bumbling as is along until something happens IMO.
Eddie clearly is happier cutting costs than worrying about results on the pitch.
Otherwise either Freedman would have been gone already or been given money to strengthen.

And, as a businessman, how long would he think that could go on, pray? Attendances are already falling markedly due to said results, and even pointy-headed boss must be aware of that fact and have informed Mother in the I.O.M Intelligence Division.BWFC_Insane wrote:

Re: Abdoulaye's going t'Souk transfer thread
Perhaps he doesn't care? Perhaps he's cutting his losses. Because I don't see him getting his money back. Certainly not through football activities. Perhaps he's simply said 'I've out over 100m in and we ended up here so now I'm focussing my investments elsewhere within the business'.TANGODANCER wrote:And, as a businessman, how long would he think that could go on, pray? End of the day as a business view I can't disagree with him. No valid business case could be created for him to invest more money into the playing side of the club.
Re: Abdoulaye's going t'Souk transfer thread
Would it be spending unnecessary money if we bin him off? Even if we didn't come to a settlement on compo it'd only be what we'll be paying him anyway, and how much can that be with 10 months to go? In walks Jiminho and we're good to go.
Also, it was only a couple of weeks or so ago Dougie said he could go out and sign three players tomorrow if he wanted to. There's no suggestion we can't afford Ibe and £1m for a striker who's scored 9 goals in 74 games in League One/Two is fecking madness. He's brought in seven new first team players this summer and I'm sure there will be more either in the next week or when the loan window opens.
Considering how dire the financial situation looks on the face of it, he could be getting a lot less resources-wise.

Why spend anything you don't have to? It's not just Dougie it is his staff also.Tombwfc wrote:Would it be spending unnecessary money if we bin him off? It makes no difference to Eddie if we finish 19th or 9th. If he's not investing he can just let us bumble along for as long as he likes.
Finally why would appointing a man who isn't even fully qualified as an academy coach as first team manager any sort of a sensible solution?
We should only sack Freedman if we can appoint a proper experienced manager. Otherwise just get on with it and grin and bear it.

Re: Abdoulaye's going t'Souk transfer thread
No, he really can't. He owns the club and as such his responsibility is surely to do all he can to protect his investment to date. Granted, he won't want to pour limitless amounts into it, and he's obviously issued a tighten the belts dictum, but if the crowds fall below a certain level even keeping the club open can only go on for so long, surely. Something has to change, and sooner rather than later.BWFC_Insane wrote:

Why? He can let the club finance itself.TANGODANCER wrote:No, he really can't. He owns the club and as such his responsibility is surely to do all he can to protect his investment to date. All he has to do at the very most is keep it solvent.
He's invested 100M and isn't ever realistically getting that back. Investing more is simply putting more money in he will never see again.
Re: Abdoulaye's going t'Souk transfer thread
the redevelopment thing is the key to him 'getting his money back' , having a bobbins team with A++ infrastructure makes no sense tho, the ffp is kicking them in the balls.

You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

We should, and this fits perfectly with your politics, sack Freedman and let that shower of shite, sorry the players form a committee to run things, good ole socialism in actionBWFC_Insane wrote:Why spend anything you don't have to? Plenty of experienced managers out there but would we be able to afford them? I'd be happy with Jiminiho in charge, he's not got a bad record. How about Suntan?

Suntan would be great. He'd have them all sat on the naughty step every game. And threaten to sing at them.TKIZ! wrote:Plenty of experienced managers out there but would we be able to afford them? I'd be happy with Jiminiho in charge, he's not got a bad record. How about Suntan?

I'd take what we paid for him. He's not exactly been consistently good since he signed proper.Peter Thompson wrote:Fingers crossed....how much are we paying them ?Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:Spearing to QPR/Villa rumour/report/made up bull shite...
