Re: Fabrice Muamba
I guess it's too late to get t-shirts made? Maybe with the profits going to the Hospital that he's in or another worthy cause.
Re: Fabrice Muamba
We could all club together and buy a flag or something (don't know how quickly these things are done). Anyone has any ideas I am happy to contribute.Annoyed Grunt wrote:Just seen that on Twitter....thoughts to his family too.LiOC wrote:Something needs to be organised for Saturday.adamworthy2002 wrote:We need to do something, the liverpool fans did it to support a player getting banned so it's the least we can do.Annoyed Grunt wrote:Could we not get something organised for Saturdays game? A flag/banner? Mosaic on one of the stands?
Also, thoughts with Liam Kelly, Kilmarnock player. His father collapsed wiith a heart attack after seeing his son lift the League Cup. What a horrible weekend.
Not sure what would be the best to do though. The Liverpool t-shirts were Kenny's idea......but we need to do something.

Re: Fabrice Muamba
For the logistics of a 'mosaic' sort of piece would it be best contacting the club directly? or (I hate to say it...) the BWSA??
I think a banner is a lot more reasonable although again I wouldn't know where to begin with a DIY approach. Would be good if someone who had such means opened a sort of 'just giving' donation page to set up and pay for such a tribute.

Bury fan here.
At 4.50 yesterday I was absolutely gutted as I watched our third 4-1 defeat in the trot.
90 minutes later , when I read about what was going on , our results paled into insignificance.
Things like this put everything into perspective
Read this thread and the one about the game over and over ; last thing I did before going to bed last night ( well technically it was this morning - just couldn't bring myself to go to bed with no news ) and first thing I did this morning - was Will be the first thing I do tomorrow morning as well, in case there are any updates.
To spend mothers day not knowing if you have a father any more must be the most horrible thing a little boy can ever go through.
My thoughts go to Fab and the rest of his family.

Re: Fabrice Muamba
Spurs fan here.
Me & my manyoo mate were watching it live on ESPN, it was 44 in & winding down, so we'd buggered off to the kitchen to make a cuppa & we'd taken our eye off the telly, when my mate said something's happened here. ESPN, to be fair, were reverential, shots of the crowd, no intrusive filming, but it meant we were left wondering what had happened. We knew it was bad, but not what it could be. We were joking that Bale must have chipped a nail. Then we had a look on twitter & we weren't joking any more.
I still feel in my heart that they'll wake Fabrice up tomorrow & it'll work out for the boy. I believe he's as strong as an ox & he'll see this off. Standing with the trotters tonight.

For a mosaic, the club would need to be contacted to get their permission.wanderers_on_tour wrote:For the logistics of a 'mosaic' sort of piece would it be best contacting the club directly? or (I hate to say it...) the BWSA??

Would probably best on the North Stand.
May be a good starting point.Salford Trotter wrote:Surely the club have contacts to get these things done quickly maybe it's worth contacting Tony Kelly perhaps?

Re: Fabrice Muamba
Liverpool fan here - horrible scenes yesterday - felt sick when I heard what had happened.
Hope the lad pulls through for the sake of his family.
This was at our game today.
Good luck Fabrice - thoughts are with you.

Re: Fabrice Muamba
That's probably the best plan. Been looking online, there are obviously websites that will produce presonalised flags and things for football fans, although I think we'll have to contact them directly for timescaleSalford Trotter wrote:Surely the club have contacts to get these things done quickly maybe it's worth contacting Tony Kelly perhaps?

Anybody know Tony? Could maybe speak to him, see if he could help.LiOC wrote:That's probably the best plan. Hello,
On behalf of France, where all of us are hoping and praying, I send my wishes of recovery to your player.
I'm a Lyon fan and this is actually reminding me the terrible day when Foe did collapsed on Gerland pitch.
And with the disease of Abidal (french and former Lyon player, all my wishes for him too), this is an awful week.
I trully hope he will get well soon.

Not been on here in a long while but I felt I just had to come on and read the threads about Fab, and the support from fans of other clubs is incredibly heartening, thank you to you all.

Just fired off an email to him, pasted a link to this thread in it. Of course, there's no guarantee that he'll look at it; lets face it, everyone at BWFC probably has other things on their mind right now; but if I get a reply, I'll copy it here.

Hi
Tottenham fan here, i was at WHL on Saturday and like everyone else am totally shocked and distraught by what i witnessed, i had to stop twice on drive home to compose myself.
I am not religious at all but i said a few words as the excellent medical staff from both teams and the paramedics performed their jobs in what must have been the most difficult circumstances, especially for the Bolton team who were trying to save the life of a fellow team mate and probably friend.
As with everyone else my thoughts are with him and with his family,
