I wonder what sort of backing Neil Lennon's successor at Bolton will be promised before he signs?

It is possible his frustration is not with cash being made available and more to do with agents/players pissing about, clubs changing minds and one injury after another.

Riley to Bury on a permanent. I'm a bit confused. Thought he was better?

That's the down payment on Kris Common's right ankle sorted.

This is the worst Transfer Thread EVER and we have had some poor ones. Who has borrowed the pitchforks?

Apparently they have space in their squad for a couple of signings. There is an interview somewhere with Derek shaw.

I imagine we're not. Do we need to shave the wages or get some cash in hand?jaffka wrote:Blackburn are looking at a loan.

I don't know the answer to that question.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:I imagine we're not. Do we need to shave the wages or get some cash in hand?jaffka wrote:Blackburn are looking at a loan.
What I do know is that the dingles are worried about us recalling baptiste (Riley now gone as well). They also think he is out of position at right back and want him at centre half which bowyer isn't doing.

Joe Riley flogged to Bury on a permanent deal. So long.

Most people further down the A666 thought he was out of position at full-back, and would have preferred to see him in the middle, where we've already got four options (if you include Ream).jaffka wrote:What I do know is that the dingles are worried about us recalling baptiste (Riley now gone as well). I guess it depends exactly how much money we're saving by loaning Bap to Rovers. If Freedman wanted shut so badly that they're only paying say 10% of his salary, we might be as well getting him back - but he doesn't really solve a problem, and if he's on a decent wage (by our modern standards) it's somewhat shuffling the deckchairs.

No surprise given his injury problems. I hope we've included a selling on clause in the dealDr Hotdog wrote:Joe Riley flogged to Bury on a permanent deal. So long.

Makes me laugh the reaction to Riley being flogged on BWFC's Facebook page.
'Lennon knows what he's doing'
'Oh well, it was his time to go'
'Was never gonna make it'
Had Dougie flogged him it would have been an entirely different reaction.
'DOUGIE OUT'
Personally, I thought Riley had a future at the club. It'll be interesting to see what happens at RB now.

Me too. Was surprised to see this. Unless he has someone lined up, or Riley just turned rubbish, it doesn't make a lot of sense to me.Jugs wrote:Makes me laugh the reaction to Riley being flogged on BWFC's Facebook page.

Re: Bijou Bob's Bargain Basement Buys - Jan transfer thread
Disappointed to see Joe go, I thought that NL may have given him a chance at rightback and move Vella into midfield. I know (he's a good friend of a close relative) that he was hoping after Freedman left that he would be given a chance by NL when his loan period was up. Joe felt that he was in the wrong place at the wrong time when DF left and that if he had still been at the Macron rather than on loan at Oxford he may have been given the full back spot over his best mate Josh Vella.
Good luck Joe hope the move goes well for you, at least you'll still be able to meet up with your mates.

Joe Riley has got a good move. He obviously has a good chance of cementing a regular first team slot in a lower league, something which wasn't going to happen here if the manager preferred a midfielder in his position.
Frees up more wages (probably not by that much) and Lennon seems capable of moving players on.

Is there no talk of us getting shot of Moxey? Would that depend on Douglas getting fixed up with a new club as there's only him stupid enough?

I remember viewing Coyles appointment at Wigan in the same light in the hope he'd swoop in for Ngog and AndrewsBruce Rioja wrote:Is there no talk of us getting shot of Moxey? Would that depend on Douglas getting fixed up with a new club as there's only him stupid enough?
