I see our old friend Tobias Phoenix is alleged to have offered Crawly fans a fight in the car park after their loss to Cambridge on Saturday

Despite Huddersfield losing again and Dion still drawing blanks they're still keeping us the playoffs.

All those months of underperforming are biting us in the arse but we're definitely heading in the right direction - and Huddersfield in the wrong one. Charlton are on a roll like us and now only 2pts behind 4th-placed Stockpotr with a game in hand. Plenty to do yet but if we play like last night we'll definitely be in the game until May.

I’d suggest the only things likely to stop us are our away day hoodoos at Blackpool and Wigan (and you could throw Burton Saturday into the mix sort of) - got both back to back coming up and injuries.

We just look light up top especially and have to keep AC and JM fit or I feel we’d struggle.

That’s it. Huddersfield have the wrong sort of momentum.

∆ I hear you but I genuinely think Schuey will do away with yon hoodoos. Not saying Blackpool will be easy, because they've found some solidity, but hoodoos etc are about mental fragility and Schuey's Bolton are soooooooo much more robust than Evatt's - in a matter of weeks.

Since Evatt left, we’ve played 4 teams in the top 6 places at the time of playing. We’ve beaten Huddersfield, Birmingham and Orient, and drawn at Wrexham. We’ve cast aside that mental block, so no reason to fear Wigan or Blackpool.

It’s a good job we’ve been on this run as the teams around us have been winning too. Hopefully we can carry on and then finally break back into that top 6.

And now Schuey has been nominated for the Manager of the Month award. They can feck right off with that hoodoo!

I wonder whether he will adress the fans specifically before those two (away) derbies. After last night's game, asked about the comeback, he again made reference to how the fans didn't panic or show any "anxiousness" even when we were losing. He could mention that again in the build-up to the games, underline how important it is to the players.

I actually think away fans tend to be more supportive and less 'grumbly' as a rule, although to be fair the home fans have really got behind the new Bolton.

As I've just bothered to look it up, I may as well share: when Evatt was hoofed (after we'd played 26 games) we were 16 points behind 2nd place. Within eight games, that gap is down to 10pts. Obviously I'm not saying that pace of catch-up can continue, or that we'll dance into the autos by Easter - neither Wycombe nor Wrexham are on terrible form, and Charlton's pace rivals ours - but I'm just saying that despite the fact we've still not broken into the top 6, we are fully into our stride and running hard down the back straight.

Saturday games for teams 4th-7th:
Stockport-Charlton (12.30)
Bristol Rovers-Huddersfield
Burton-Bolton

Tuesday games for teams currently 4th-7th:
Bristol Rovers-Bolton
Crawley-Charlton
Stockport and Huddersfield do not play next midweek.

Yeah agreed. Less about mental fragility or hoodoo but local derby’s away back to back pretty much anything can happen.

If you cross the whitewash thinking you're going to have it stuck up you, then what the crowd do is going to be a reflection of what's in front of them. It's a 2 way street. I don't think Schumacher will send us out terrified. Makes a big difference.

I thought I saw lots of things last night that we'd been told was almost impossible with these players. Didn't believe it then. Don't believe it now. And I think Schumacher is putting to bed some of the absolute nonsense we've heard. Won't always succeed, but I'm almost on the verge of going watching again (would've gone last night but work got in the way)

I think I'm on the verge of falling in love. Trying not to think about what might have happened had we sacked Evatt sooner, or what might happen if we stay down but play like this all next season. That's the past and future; right now, the present is a whole lotta fun and yes, a pleasaure to watch.

Not sure where to post this but Rotherham at home now taking place on Tuesday 8th April.

Bit of a weird schedule now. We're in the middle of 5 games in 2 weeks; then 2 weeks off; then another 5 games in 2 weeks.

Yeah, I'm still at 2nd being really fanciful and 6th still needing plenty of work and ongoing consistency, after which we might have a lottery ticket. The way he's adapting us to what's in front of our eyes is refreshing. Both our open play goals, we had their defence running towards their goal in disarray, they were both quick and incisive.

And workrate, position without the ball felt a lot more purposeful than under Evatt towards the end. Our defensive off the ball shape felt better and as I think Spartan said when Toal dropped one, Morley found longer legs to execute the recovery.

All good!

Happy for the coaching staff to have a clear fortnight with the boiys who aren't away - but also confident we'll shuffle the pack for the rush of games.

We'll just have got back (next Tuesday) on the same number of games ast Stockport and Huddersfield... same day we would have played Rotherham, Huddersfield host Wycombe and Stockport go to Wrexham...

Oof. I guess that's reasonable given the backing he's had but it'll be intriguing to see who they get. And intriguing to see how well he gets someone else's squad to perform.

Evatt to get the job and meet us in the playoffs?

Evatt would be doing very well to get that job. I don’t see it.

Edit: Apparently they’ve put one of their coaches in charge for the rest of the season.
