Also note we play Swansea at home next who QPR just dicked on, qpr being a team we did the double over

Not to mention we also beat swansea in the fa cup and they have lost 4 in a row

We're Bolton. We never do things the easy way and even when it looks like we're down and out and we've all prepared ourselves for the worst, the beggars pull something off and give us all hope again. This years no different. We'll probably give someone a good hiding in the next fortnight.

I think Coyle will have been shaken with tonight's results, he really needs to pull a few rabbits out between now and the end of the seasoin. The Villa game for me is looking pivotal given that we should get six points off Swansea and West Brom but will probably not.

We had a genius called Okocha last time that single handedly dragged us out of the shit. Who's going to do that this time, Pratley? I'm really struggling to be optimistic with the lack of enthusiasm we show in matches in comparison to our relegation rivals.

Well to be honest, I had us down at Xmas and then they won at Everton and took points off Arsenal and Liverpool. It's tough to see where the fightback will come from, but mark my words sir, it will come.

The pessimism on here is amazing at times. It will be hard, yeah, but we're not in a terrible position. We're ahead of Blackburn and Wolves and we're a better side than QPR and Wigan. We have a game in hand over them two, which is against struggling Villa, and if we win it, we'll be leading of the bottom 5.

When you look at the fixtures, it's hard to see where a win is going to come from. However, how many Wigan fans would have looked at the fixture list and predicted a win over United? To a lesser degree, how many QPR fans would have predicted a win over Swansea?

It'll be tough, absolutely. I think we can do it but I can also see why we may not. The downright pessimism of some is just absurd though. We aren't in an impossible predicament like some are suggesting.

I've just been to the Wigan game tonight (supporting United Ofcourse) and can confirm the previous poster is incorrect.

We are NOT better than Wigan.
They are the best side in this bottom 5. They have been for weeks now and IMO will stay up.

Wash your mouth out... Supported United... FFS!... Wanting the filth to win, secretly, very quietly, and with a significant degree of shame involved is one thing... but... supporting???

I agree on Wigan... And well done them... beat the filthy red shite at home and your most hated opponents away and you've staked a major claim for survival...

But feckin QPR an all...

It pains me to say it but I think the relegation battle has been decided over Easter.Wolves, Blackburn and Bolton are the worst teams and are going down. We'd have to win 4 of the last 6 to survive in my opinion and we don't have the personnell to do that. When the best attacking midfielder available is Mark Davies it's not enough.I expect us to beat Swansea but we won't get enough points from the other games.
It's a crying shame because with Holden and Lee we'd be in mid table.
At least getting relegated with two old rivals will soften the blow, for me it will anyway.

Not enough goals in the team.. 5 of last years first team unavailable and no luck but bad.. that and the fact that by the time the manager got the tactical message he had no one left to pick... ..
We've not been good enough for a very long time.. I doubt we'll win another game..
Are we in League 2 yet - Three seasons and we'll be away to Chesham

When you look over the season the home defeats to...

Norwich
Wigan
Sunderland
Villa
Newcastle
Fulham
Everton

Probably will cost us our premiership place. If you're getting nowt out of that lot and you can't get results against the top 4, well it only spells one thing.

Wigan have been very good since they beat us.

This sort of thing from Coyle doesn't help either
Take the first half hour out of the equation against Fulham and I think we have been terrific for large parts of the last two games, even though I accept they are games we have lost.
Come on Owen, we played well at Newcastle granted. But at no point against Fulham were we even average, let alone "terrific". And bizarrely enough our best part of the game against Fulham was the first half hour when we were shite, but not as hopelessly shite as the rest!

The other week we'd won three on the go and all were optimistic of staying up. Now you'd think we were 20 points adrift with two games to go.

There'll be plenty ups and downs over the coming weeks with some events going in our favour, others not. It will go to the final day. Anything can happen.

Can't rely on feckin' anybody...

Alright, hands up, how many people on here have broken coffee tables and severely winded cats from all the major knee-jerk kicks? The pessimism is ridiculous. If the games last night showed anything, it's that at this stage of the season, league position matters not a jot on a game by game basis, and that anybody can beat anybody. Wigan were dead and gone a couple of months ago. So were Blackburn. Less than a couple of weeks ago, people were saying that QPR were gonna struggle to stay up. Guess what? Everyone's still in it.

By the time we play Swansea, we'll have two games in hand over our rivals. We could be two points from safety, we could be five. But at this stage, you might as well put the results on randomize. Our games in hand are both very winnable, as is every game from now until the end of the season. We play away against Villa, who, when all's said and done, aren't really THAT much better off than us. We play Spurs at home, a side that have never won at the Reebok. Keep the faith, and keep fighting.

People need to understand its in our hands, we dont play this weekend but others do if they all drop points we maybe about 3 points behind with 2 games in hand. We will beat swansea and we can beat Villa. If the fight is there we can survive. Wigan are by far the best playing team in the bottom 5 but we have our 2 best players out and lost Cahill in January. If we stay up them 2 will come back and with getting rid of a couple of asbins bring some more boddies in and go for it next year
