BB, can you stop careering about on that upmarket, super-powered jet ski and show a little consideration for us row-boat types?boltonboris wrote:Who gives a feck.. He wants to earn more money. What's the problem? That's life. We're ALL in the same boat.

actually - truth be known - I have piggybacked on the wifi that Worthy has on his huge yacht moored close by... he runs an unsecured network...Verbal wrote:wifi though, apparently.

Most of the time I'm slaving away in the bilges.

A bit like most of us really.
I'm concerned that we have appointed someone who wouldn't have been in the running 2 months ago, but am happy to hope for the best.

I think this is a fair point, though he was on the radar as being a promising young manager before that. The key to it all really is whether in the end he over or under achieved based on Palace's resources and predicament when he took over. Time will tell on that.mummywhycantieatcrayons wrote:It's only been a few days!James B wrote:palace fans still on here crying about it? get over it.

All I will say is, and not meaning you, but plenty of Bolton fans wanted to appoint Phillips on the basis of a couple of media interviews and one game of football........

From the club's facebook page (yes I can make it bigger if you want)
"Young people, nowadays, imagine money is everything."
"Yes, and when they grow older they know it."

But as you've all told us, he's not very good. So its no great loss to you, and you're bound to be able to appoint a much better manager what with you being 4th and all?paddypower45 wrote:im sure we would get plenty of bolton fans on our forum puzzled and disapointed if the boot was on the other footmummywhycantieatcrayons wrote:It's only been a few days!James B wrote:palace fans still on here crying about it? get over it.

Re: Dougie Freedman - New Manager
Not sure how many clubs would have been seriously looking at DF as a promising young manager two months ago, which would have been on the back of 3 wins in 25-30 games, playing largely sterile football, a 10-12% win %. Good question over under/overachieved, I think we were a better team than that 25-30 game spell, but I don't believe we are a 9 game unbeaten side either.BWFC_Insane wrote:

Trying to not come across as overtly negative here, I am (as one of your posters said) one of the puzzled Palace fans.

hes not very good thats right
but it wont stop us posting comments on what we think.. didnt you have opinions and questions when allerdyce went to west ham?
hes doing well for himself and i hope dougie does at bolton
yes we are 4th in the league and there are better managers out there a much as i dont like to admit it my personal choice would be karl robinson fantastic manager plenty of experience and doing very well with limited resourses at mk dons..

he went from us to Newcastle - Newastle to Blackburn - Blackburn to West Ham
and - no - none of us said anything about any of the moves at all and have never mentioned him since. In fact - I doubt anyone on here even remembers who Sam Allardyce actually is, so little do we care (I had to look him up on Wikipaedia).
we haven't ever mentioned any of our subsequent managers either..
Sammy Davies Jnr
Ivan Megsonovitch
Brian Coyle
(I think that's right)

Re: Dougie Freedman - New Manager
Check out his photo. He's had a shave, looks smart in his Bolton gear, doesn't wear shorts at matches, and has a decent haircut. There's also no mention of his training methods including table-tennis, ear-flicking or crossbar Challenge. What more do we need?Eagle in peace wrote:BWFC_Insane wrote: Not sure how many clubs would have been seriously looking at DF as a promising young manager two months ago, .
