I think there'll come a time when it might be worth stopping banging on about this and just accepting that he had a think about it and changed his mind !

Mr Bish, what is it that they say about he who is without sin, help me out here father 8)
thats his priority to change his mind and its up to him but i hope he doesnt do the same to you guys remember the championship is a very very tough league to get out of and freedman isnt a proven manager yet he talks a good game tho ill give him that...

BB, can you stop careering about on that upmarket, super-powered jet ski and show a little consideration for us row-boat types?

Most of the time I'm slaving away in the bilges.
My boat was hijacked by the Somali Football Players Association.

It's only been a few days!

And most of them seem philosophical/puzzled about it...

A bit like most of us really.

I'm concerned that we have appointed someone who wouldn't have been in the running 2 months ago, but am happy to hope for the best.

I suppose then that's my problem. I'm hoping for the best, but I'm not happy to be doing so.

I think this is a fair point, though he was on the radar as being a promising young manager before that. The key to it all really is whether in the end he over or under achieved based on Palace's resources and predicament when he took over. Time will tell on that.

All I will say is, and not meaning you, but plenty of Bolton fans wanted to appoint Phillips on the basis of a couple of media interviews and one game of football........

From the club's facebook page (yes I can make it bigger if you want)

Image
"Young people, nowadays, imagine money is everything."

"Yes, and when they grow older they know it."

But as you've all told us, he's not very good. So its no great loss to you, and you're bound to be able to appoint a much better manager what with you being 4th and all?

So whats the problem?

Not sure how many clubs would have been seriously looking at DF as a promising young manager two months ago, which would have been on the back of 3 wins in 25-30 games, playing largely sterile football, a 10-12% win %. Good question over under/overachieved, I think we were a better team than that 25-30 game spell, but I don't believe we are a 9 game unbeaten side either.

Trying to not come across as overtly negative here, I am (as one of your posters said) one of the puzzled Palace fans.

he went from us to Newcastle - Newastle to Blackburn - Blackburn to West Ham

and - no - none of us said anything about any of the moves at all and have never mentioned him since. In fact - I doubt anyone on here even remembers who Sam Allardyce actually is, so little do we care (I had to look him up on Wikipaedia).

we haven't ever mentioned any of our subsequent managers either..

Sammy Davies Jnr
Ivan Megsonovitch
Brian Coyle

(I think that's right)

Check out his photo. He's had a shave, looks smart in his Bolton gear, doesn't wear shorts at matches, and has a decent haircut. There's also no mention of his training methods including table-tennis, ear-flicking or crossbar Challenge. What more do we need?
