Indeed. I suspect it’s simply the time they’ve been here and significance they played in the progress. Interesting that there is no formal club hosted goodbye messages from any of the players as of yet. I think they’ve done that in the past. Maybe they will do so later.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Wed May 07, 2025 10:40 amHe's mentioned 'down the piece' on the website and gets a pic. No separate tweet but to be fair he didn't stay as long or achieve as much as the former captain and vice-captain.
But it’s unlikely any of the three are departing ‘entirely happy’ with things. Which is a shame but I guess not uncommon.

I know it's an odd idea,(us apart of course) but the thought occurs...Does anyone ie anyone in League 3, actually have a defined plan or a focus on team building for next season ? With all the jigsaw's seemingly emptied out onto the grass, and "Goodbye" being the new "Hello", in short, does anyone (primarily the Wall Street wanabees) actually know what they are doing regarding the game of football?
I'm convinced (despite my joking and well against the grain) , that we are Premier League candidates in this foggy field. Shumacher is but a name in a list of unproven opinions and I might even go as far as suggesting re-signing him and Dion Charles as the only proven candidates for success. "Outrageous, hang him" I hear howled , but you ain't heard nothing yet. Almost as crazy as Swiss magnates picking the team based on Toblerone sales or referees being called unbiased.
p.s. There's a spiritualist team currently appearing in Bolton. Maybe they have some answers..

Probably end up head first over a fence 30 miles miles away, along with photographic evidence of the wrong place but still proof it was delivered to the right place.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Wed May 07, 2025 10:18 amI think they sent Etete, by Evri last week. So he should get delivered to the wrong place.

Hard to know what the plan now is for the goalkeeper position.
- Is Southwood now seen as number one?
- Will we bring in another senior keeper?
- Does the contract offer to Hutchinson mean he’s going to be our number two, or is it with a view to loaning him out next season?

Some teams have a plan. Peterborough try to buy cheap (often non-league) and sell at the market maximum - and if players enter the last year of their contract without extending or being sold, they're automatically transfer-listed. It's worked well for Posh financially, even if this season they finished 18th.TANGODANCER wrote: ↑Wed May 07, 2025 11:19 amI know it's an odd idea,(us apart of course) but the thought occurs...Does anyone ie anyone in League 3, actually have a defined plan or a focus on team building for next season ? I would guess Hutch is a loan-out. Apart from that emergency loan to Crawley (played 1, conceded 3), and a Sherpa Van game against Aston Villa U21s (conceded 1), he hasn't played above tier 6.The_Gun wrote: ↑Wed May 07, 2025 11:30 amHard to know what the plan now is for the goalkeeper position.

Even if we had a No.1 keeper we completely trusted, it would be a huge risk to only have such an untried goalkeeper as a backup; with nobody 100% sure about Southwood, I suspect we will see another senior keeper come in. Who that is might give a hint as to how much Schumacher trusts Southwood: if it's an older player edging into retirement/coaching, it looks like he's happier than if it's someone who might expect game time.
Course it also depends on budgets, but goalkeepers don't always get decent wages (considering the importance of the position).

I'm doubling up as third keeper next season.

Interesting thread on where Plymouth's promotion winners are now. Speculate away...

First player since David Wheater to get to 200 games for the club...which tells you everything you need to know another past decade.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Wed May 07, 2025 10:10 amSorry that it didn't work out for Santos. Think he became the lightning rod for Evatt's tippy tappy. Over the years, a decent player for us.
Wish all of them will, especially Rico and Geth. Once in never out and all that.

SHREWSBURY
Released: Jamal Blackman, Joe Young, Morgan Feeney, Aaron Pierre, Jordan Rossiter, Dom Gape, David Wheeler, Jordan Shipley.
Contract extension triggered: Taylor Perry
Loanees returned: Josh Feeney, Funso Ojo, Leo Castledine, Vadaine Oliver.
Jordan Shipley is a midfielder we were linked with back at the time we were signing Dempsey and Morley. He's the one that scored two in six months against us, from identical spots on the edge of our area while we didn't defend corners.
Jamal Blackman is a 6ft6in goalkeeper who came through at Chelsea. He's also one of only four goalkeepers in this season's League One to have a worse save percentage than Southwood's 62.3%, so it's a good job that number doesn't mean anything, even if that would come as a crushing blow to table-topping Wrexham keeper Arthur Okwonko (80.2%) and the also-promoted runner-up, Birmingham's Ryan Allsopp (76.7%)

Nobody will agree anyway, but it might please the bean-counters so......My 2025 Whites starters , from :
A big rough keeper.
Sheehan, I like, creative but just a wee bit precious, so 2 distinct wingers Maybe Tuttu and Dacres Cogley, possibly Randall.
Toal and Forina flanked by Thomason, Schon, Morley.
Two big rough midfield ball-winners.
From: Abimbola, McAtee, Collins, Etete, Adeboyejo. Dempsey,

Best of luck to Gethin and Ricardo. They've both been excellent signings. We'll do well if a couple of those incoming this summer make as many appearances and have the influence they've had.

Rumour klaxon!
We're in for "non-league sensation" Charlie Warren, a 20 year old left-footed winger who has scored 33 goals for Felixstowe & Walton (eighth tier) this season. Apparently, he had a trial with us in February.
