Premier League outfit Bolton are among those reported to be weighing up a move for Jeffren
Skysports reports that it hasn't a f*cking clue as to whats going on.

I thought everyone else had signed a busload of world class players though?

Taylor started more league games than Petrov, Petrov made more overall starts and appearances. More or less half-and-half though. I'm not rabidly anti-Taylor and slightly concerned about selling before buying, but I understand that you take your chances where they come - we can't really go back offering Taylor to Allardyce in a month, they'll probably have signed somebody else and would in any case smell the desperation. It seems that Coyle is happy to sell Taylor, which is interesting.

As for the SWP "understandings", do we take it then that £40kpw is the new wage ceiling? (£40kpw is a lot but still a million a year below £60kpw. Would you halve your wages for a more involving job? I believe I might try to get slightly more than half...)

The SWP deal doesn't really stack up for us at all. I think we're his fall back. Nothing wrong with that, but I don't see whats in it for us.

The Jeffren one doesnt stack up either.
Yesterday we were flying him out to our US training camp, had been watching him for a year and had a bid accepted.
Now apparently we're 'weighing up a bid'

Gah...i blame TKIZ and his all new transfer rumours thread.

Aye, I think the one thing we can agree on is its all his fault.

I see more "value" in the Jeffren deal in principle, but frankly I know nothing about him. Would SWP command a transfer fee, for example?

Different sources lead to different stories, but there does seem to be an untruth in there somewhere. Perhaps Zubizaretta's trying to drum up more bids, although ours would seem to be idyllic if they don't want Jeffren to return and bite them in the ass. Then again, now they're finally talking turkey with Arsenal over Cesc maybe they're trying to maximise all incoming fees...

LK: I'd guess you're right that SWP would rather be a fully-paid first-teamer at City. That he's (allegedly) willing to take a 25% pay cut is reasonably decent. City would probably ask a fee - maybe £4m, which I'd say he's arguably worth.

I'd be amazed if Jeffren came to us

If he did I'd be amazed if his wage wasn't comparable with Taylor

In July, they'll ask for one and still play reasonably hardball for a good fee - 'experienced england international and all that'
I think by mid August, they'll just want rid, maybe a nominal fee.

Amazed that he'd want to come to Bolton, or amazed if the deal can go through wothout a hitch?

Seems he's not awash with offers, however that may be because people assumed he wasnt available. Now that its known he is, we could get muscled out of it.

Sometimes i wonder, if Nixon is a 'friend' of Coyle, why does he let him open his big gob sometimes with scoops.

Nixon is a tit, it's clear. An unreliable tit.

LK - have seen far more of Taylor than Jeffren, and I'd rather have neither

2 weeks is optimistic...
http://menmedia.co.uk/manchesterevening ... oan-chance
Bolton must wait at least another fortnight to find out whether they have a chance of landing Daniel Sturridge on loan again next season.

The Chelsea striker has flown on the club’s Far East tour after partnering Fernando Torres in a 1-1 friendly draw at Portsmouth.

Wanderers would love to sign the former City youngster after his superb loan spell at the Reebok last season.

Bolton boss Owen Coyle is good friends with Chelseacounterpart Andre Villas-Boas and has hinted he may enquire about Sturridge’s availability.

“Daniel is a very, very interesting player with a tremendous future,” said Villas-Boas.

“The individual is highly regarded by myself.

“I have 15 days in Asia to make the best decision and I need those four games to continue to assess.

“When we get back from Asia we have a week running into the Rangers game and I think from then on a decision will have to be taken to be ready for the first game of the season.”
