He no doubt will as a right back...Peter Thompson wrote:He could be a good un by the sounds of it
And TBH he can't be any worse than Danns, so for me NL can throw him straight in at Preston
That's not a leopard!

whys that then - not noticed NL being particularly prone to thatLost Leopard Spot wrote:He no doubt will as a right back...Peter Thompson wrote:He could be a good un by the sounds of it

anyway - this was posted in August by an australian wolves fan on one of their forums
Luke Brattan Not a name obvious to a lot on here. Plays for Brisbane Roar but could be available on a free. I think he is an excellent player. Better than Jedinak from Palace when he was over here. Very good passer and isnt afraid to get stuck in either. I think he could be an absolute steal for any club in the championship personally.
Hope springs eternal and all that, but may turn out to be a pity that its only to Jan.
Re: If carlsberg did transfer threads.....This would be it!
If he is better than Jedinak he'll be our best player.
Not to be sniffed at.

Big if, I think. In FFT Australia's top 50, Jedinak was No.3, Brattan No.47. Things change, of course, but...Enoch wrote:If he is better than Jedinak he'll be our best player.

Forgot that Freedman was trying to bring Jedinak to Bolton. Imagine where we might be with Dawson, Jedinak, Juke and my auntie wearing my uncle's bollocks.

If he can grab the game by the scruff of the neck then that's good en op for me! We haven't got anyone like that either.

A big defensive midfield player? It is exactly what we need. Sounds good to me.

According to some he's a playmaker type. Love the enthusiasm though. Keep it up!

Isn't the Nou Campo already here, playing at right-back?
Re: If carlsberg did transfer threads.....This would be it!
You can never have enough Campos

Don't ruin it! A big, hulking DM is what we've been crying out for for months, and that is what we've now got! Whether he's a playmaker or not, he'll have to adapt!plymouth wanderer wrote:BWFC_Insane wrote:A big defensive midfield player? It is exactly what we need. Sounds good to me.

He's the same height as Moxey, two inches shorter than Trotter...Jugs wrote:Don't ruin it! A big, hulking DM is what we've been crying out for for months, and that is what we've now got! There's another thing: A short time back Moxey was getting all the good words and suddenly he isn't in the team. Is he injured?Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ]He's the same height as Moxey, two inches shorter than Trotter...
Edit: Apparently, he has a toe injury.

Right I'll stick my neck out - if Lennon plays this new midfielder from City he'll be a good un, and he'll improve the way we play, he's 6ft tall apparently gets stuck in and is a good passer of the ball - exactly the type of player that we need.
I know he's only here until 3rd Jan but if we give him regular game time & start him I'm sure that City will let him stay all season as I doubt he'll get in City's midfield for a good few years.
If him & Ameobi start against PNE we will win....

Depends whether they need him as English ballast in the CL/PL squads.
By the way, PT, I do genuinely love how you swing to this kind of rampant optimism from the equally certain negativity on the Bedsheets thread. Hope springs eternal in the hearts of football fans.

I so want us to do well, and therefore any half decent signing gets me all optimistic only for it to be quickly quashed on match days !!

Melbourne based Wanderer here... Brattan has been very decent in the A-League for the last couple of years, and a stand out in Brisbane's midfield. But that doesn't always translate to the Championship. Going in his favour are he's decent on the ball, throws his weight around and isn't afraid of taking a shot.
The pathway Brattan has taken (spend your early pro career in Australia, develop and then head to Europe) seems to be the way to go for many now. See Jedinak and Mat Ryan at Valencia.
Others in the past have headed to England too soon, and their development has stunted. Aaron Mooy is a good example, and familiar to BWFC. Never made the grade at Bolton, came back to Australia and has grown to be one of the premier midfielders in the A-League. I wouldn't be surprised to see Mooy back over in Europe sometime soon.
